Rolex 5512 Bezel query

Have a 5512 - that has been in the family for years.
It was missing the bezel insert and spring
I’m thinking of getting aftermarket replacements until I can find an affordable originals. At least then I could wear it.
Any recommendations on a source for a decent one?
Or better yet, anyone have an original?

Buy one from rolex
The insert wont be period correct but better then after market
And they are surprisingly inexpensive

I believe it’s from 1962.

I guess it’s worth looking into….I was thinking I just wanted to be able to wear it until I get a proper bezel.
Cheers.

There are always some vaguely period inserts FS here, on VRF especially on Tapatalk (there's also a great guide by Xeramic there too on the types) and eBay too - if you find one post it up here as there is a lot of insert expertise here that can give you thumbs up. A new one from Rolex was about £150 last time I bought one (and can be got from a dealer in a few days), and very roughly a period insert starts from £350 upwards. Ps imho after-mkt is just a no no for me.

Had this 5512 restored for a friend (Rolliworks) and needed a new dome crystal and pip. Phillip Ridley reached out to me asking if I'd like to purchase them. Maybe you could reach out to him and see if he has what you're looking for.

The suggestion to use an authentic insert from an AD is great advice IMO.

There are plenty of period correct inserts in VRF, but they are not cheap…
Most long 5s around USD$2k+
