That's all up to the potential owner. We all have our own tastes, so there is no "better choice".
I prefer the overall looks and function of the GMT. |

I would go with the Batman as I'm biased towards Gmt .... I consider them really cool

Welcome to TRF.
It's impossible to answer as both are fantastic references. |

Depends on your collection. If you have a black dial watch already then I would go with the blue dial DJ41. If this is a first watch I would go with the GMT.

Betty bought a bit of butter but the butter was bitter so Betty bought some better butter to make the bitter butter better.....
So little info, I have no answers.I believe you still need to do more research or try them out on your wrist before a decision is made. |

Go and try them both, to see which is a better fit.

I would say that overall, the BLNR is better for more occasions and looks just as proper worn with a suit as with a T shirt and shorts. Up to you though. Whatever you buy, just get a good deal ;)

Both are beautiful timepieces. Go to an AD, try them on your wrist and see which one suits you best!
I personally prefer the BLNR for its versatility. |

I have a 114060 and BLNR. I'm about to sale my 114060 and get a DJ41 blue/fluted/jubilee. Been wanting a DJ for awhile. Regardless my vote is for the BLNR.

Blue DJ 41 on oyster vs batman
They are completely different both in function and looks. I presume the logical answer is dependent on your current collection and what you're looking for in a watch.
If you have a SubC I say go DJ41. Personally I am not a fan of the GMT due to the bezel being too busy with fat numbers (kinda reminds me of the Jeep wrangler tires) - but even if I was pulling the trigger on one, I'm a purist for classics, so it would have to be LN for me. But if it helps you in any way, my vote goes to the DJ41. Whichever dial you pick, hope you go jubilee/fluted ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

When in doubt, pick the more expensive one.

Small wrist? If so, the DJ at 41mm wears very big. All you see are the head and the clasp as I did on my 6.5 inch wrist. In that case the GMT a better bet.

BLNR for me as I travel a lot, but my first Rolex was a DJ36. I do love the DJ41 and plan to pick one up the next time I'm overseas

I was 100% certain that the BLNR was going to be my next watch, but decided to wait to see what was shown at Basel. Rolex gave me exactly what I've been waiting for, a modern, slightly upsized datejust on jubilee in steel.
Now I'm just waiting for my AD to get the version I want. It's definitely a personal choice, but if there was no jubilee option for the DJ41, I would go for the BLNR. Not that the osyter on the DJ is bad in any way. It just works better on the BLNR. |

I have the same exact problem. From the time I wanted one for myself, it has always been the DJ. It's iconic. Love the fluted bezel. It's distinguishable from a mile away. I never paid much attention to the 'sports watches'. I was convinced that they all looked the same. That they don't look too different from a Seiko diver's. Since it is my first luxury watch, I wanted it to be recognizable. I had this twisted mentality that I might garner more respect for myself. That perception changed about 4 weeks ago. I finally decided to get one for myself so I started educating myself a little more. I read into other's people opinion more. I watched more videos about it. As much as I wanted to get a DJ. The BLNR just makes more sense for me now. It's what I can wear daily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
