Both great watches and hard to beat. Of course you are posting in PP forum so most will say 5711. Unfortunately these are 2 watches you can't go and see to help in your decision. Good luck either way!
agree with all this my friend - for me the 15202 is the original genta classic, very masculine look and looks amazing with a suit in particular.

but the PP 5711 is also great, no doubt, I have considered adding one to my collection but with waiting lists or grey market prices where they are don't think that is going to happen...

Hope you are keeping track Of the numbers either way

I had a 5711. But opted for the 15202 in preference

Think 15202 is best initially, then maybe following up with a white 5711 or a complication. 5990 being the Mack Daddy

Had the 15202, gave it to my dad when I got my 5711. Prefer the 15202, especially the bracelet and the way it reflects light. Can't go wrong with either. I would feel silly asking him for it back.

Or get one of them in white/silver so that you can buy the other in blue. 5711 is my preference if I have to choose only one

The only stainless steel patek with a bracelet I'd get is the twin time nautilus. If it's 5711 vs 15202, the 15202 all day long.

The dial is also really beautiful with the clou de paris, and a nice blue which you need to see for yourself.

Overall finish on the watch is amazing, and stands out more than on the 5711 in my opinion.

The 5711 does have 120m water resistance (vs. 30m on the 15202) with a screw down crown, so it will be more versatile.

Try to see if you can try on each watch before deciding.

Get a steel daytona if you want to go swimming. I wouldn't go swimming with either of these watches.

A Daytona has a lesser WR rating than the nautilus.

I used my 5711 in the water often, jacuzzi included. The 5711 is truly a daily wear and for nearly all occasions if one chooses.

15202 has a 50 meter WR (not 30m), the AP is still rather limited in water but there is a notable difference between the two ratings.

The 15202 would be an easy choice if only they would scrub the "automatic" from the dial.

I know, I'm too picky.

so i've spent the better part of the last few weeks trying to source a 5711 at retail. one of the more frustrating experiences one could endure. enough to make me think the 15202 may be the better way to go...we'll see.

the 15202 isn't easy to find either although easier to find than the 5711. Good luck though

Hah! That gets on my nerves, too.

The 15400 'Automatic' placement bothers me much more. (Though, I'm waiting for a Tiffany 5167 with a stamp in the same location, so what do I know!)

Both are great watches but I ordered the 5711. Personally I don't mind the wait, if I could have it tomorrow it wouldn't feel at all special and if I saw lots of other people with it I'd quickly get bored and move on. I think Patek are right to restrict the supply.

The wild card in this whole debate of course is getting the AP 15202 with a custom rotor with your initials on it.

Not sure if you can do that with PP, but i have never seen it if you can. For a piece i would never sell i would go with the 15202 if the decision was a toss up between the two based on that being the tiebreaker.

I ordered it in April, the Patek dealer is connected to the AD that I usually buy from and he knows the watches I've bought - taking my history/loyalty into account he stated that I wouldn't have a crazy wait, I didn't push and he volunteered around 18 months....we'll see.

you might be surprised. If you are a good customer they are probably overstating wait so you will be happy when they beat expectations. If i was betting i would say first quarter of next year would be reasonable.

My experience so far for the 5711 in white or blue has been "sorry we're not taking any more names for the waitlist even if you put a deposit down".

For the 15202, it's been "put a deposit down and you'll have it in 3-6 months".

My sample size is 2 PP dealers, 1 AP AD, and 1 AP boutique somits somewhat limited sample.

sorry to hijack but if anyone is in the market for a white 5711, PM Me. I have a lead on one in stock at an AD.

I'd take it myself but I'd have to travel to get it and I don't want to pay state taxes either
