That would be a big move, and some of those models have big (for Panerai) production numbers for OP. Pretty radical move.

So, I'll believe this prediction when I see it.....

wow base models are gone. but these models were the bread and butter of panerai. they had better come up with a good replacement otherwise its a shot to the head.

i think it cant get any better than the 6497.

swatch is the real winner here

Latest Discontinued Models... Fri, 27 September 2013 09:53

A good friend of mine reports that the following Panerai models have been discontinued (NOTE: This didn't come directly from Panerai, so may be subject to change!)

PAM025
PAM112
PAM113
PAM114
PAM176
PAM177
PAM219
PAM270
PAM275
PAM289
PAM299
PAM439
PAM504
PAM505

The following 'styles' remain, but drop the current Panerai calibers OP X & OP XI (Based on the ETA 6497 & 6497/2 respectively)and are upgraded to the in-house Panerai caliber P.5000 with 8 Day Power Reserve. It remains to be seen if they will retain the model designation, or be assigned new model numbers:

PAM112
PAM176
PAM177

I'm not sure if inherent in this news is that the PAM111 will also be discontinued and will have been fully replaced by the already released PAM510.

Cheers...

Michael

I think some Pams will replaced to a new version with a new in-house movement like they did with Pam113 (or 114).
