How tight/loose do you wear it?

Hi everyone. Just got my first PAM yesterday (359).

I have been wearing it on the 3rd to last hole, which is rather tight. Unbuckling the strap causes significant abrasion against the buckle, enough so that I see slight color being removed from the strap.

Is this too tight? The 4th hole is an acceptable fit, but only because the stiffness of the new strap is making the extra space less noticeable.

How tight/loose do most 'Risti wear them?

I think you're wearing it too tight, I'd rather loosen it up a notch..

If you have other buckles, try switching to a different buckle which is a different size. May fit you perfect then.

Yeah, I have it on the 4th hole right now. It's a little floppy but wearable. The 3rd hole really only presents a problem when I have to make it tighter just to back out the buckle prong from the strap. I think that's when the unpleasantries happen.

I don't have any other buckles or straps other than the OEM rubber.

I need to find some straps!!! :)

If the strap

leaves marks on your wrist, it's a bit tight. However, it's a new strap you're gonna have that "break-in" period, it'll probably be fine after a week of constant wear.

Congrats on the new piece BTW

I like to wear mine more loose and higher on my arm (slightly above my wrist bone). I find that this works better than leaving marks on my wrist (and watch/strap) and makes the watch look more natural on my skinny wrists. Congrats on the new watch!!!

I usually can slide the little finger (tip) between the strap and the skin at the buckle.

i live in perennially humid weather. so my wrist expands and contracts significantly

if you strap it on and grip your hands and feel your watch tightening=then its too tight.

but if im going to stay aircon i will adjust to next smaller hole.

ammo straps are best for humid weather

I wear them slightly loose as well, as the tight fit is really uncomfortable. They do flop around a little bit if worn loose, but overall its still more comfortable. And I also like to wear them a bit lower down as well.

Just work the leather for a while with your fingers to break it in, why break it in on your wrist over a week when you can do it in 10 minutes?
If all else fails, you can get custom straps made with custom holes. That can be a real problem with heavy watches on a leather strap. One hole is too loose and the next too tight. A custom strap with closer holes is a great solution. The straps seem to be half the fun of owning a Panerai.
