Role-pox has hit hard.

I guess I've contracted Role-pox. It wasn't so long ago (end of November) that I bought my very first ever Rolex, a 1973 two-tone Reference 1601 Oyster Perpetual Datejust. The bug must have hit me hard because I've just come back from the AD this evening, having purchased a 2018 SS DJ41 Reference 126334 with blue dial and Oyster bracelet!

Before I bought the 1601, I was totally impartial to Rolex. I could take it or leave it. I got a deal on the 1601 through an acquaintance and since getting it, I love that watch as does my wife. I got a bonus at work this year and to celebrate that success, I insisted we both visit an AD to look at TT DJ36 for her. She's always wanted a Rolex herself and this was my way to show my appreciation for her. We both looked at watches for her, tried on a few, but she turned the tables on me and insisted I try the DJ41. It also looked great (should I have expected anything less?). She insisted I get the DJ41; I insisted she get the DJ36; we settled on I get the DJ41 and she gets my 1601. We are both very happy with the outcome.

It's a terrible disease. I just bought my third (two tone GMT yellow gold with black dial - to compliment my BLNR and Hulk) and all I can think about is a solid gold Sub. It's bad. I feel your pain. No over-the-counter pill will take it away, either. Good luck not buying another one in the next 12 months. LOL!

Congratulations and good going... wear it in good health... both of you...

Now you gotta trade her watch in for DJ36... before she trades your DJ41 for a Submariner or Something else...

Oh my! Beautiful piece! More photos.

I recently joined the forum after becoming infected in July of 2018 - fortunately, my wife now shows signs of fever.

Enjoy!
