Apollo 11 re edition

Given the limited edition of 1014 pieces - like the original - and that it’s the 50th Anniversary edition, is the thinking that this gorgeous watch will at least hold its value?

I’d say that supposition is high risk but I have no idea really. My point is this is no LVc or Blnr that you can try and if you don’t like sell without depreciation. I think this watch is way more niche for that and I wouldn’t risk my “principal” of 32k on that. Now if an AD gives you -30 then maybe that’s a risk I’d take if I felt I had to have this watch

mmm...not 100% certain about this one's retention.
in general, most precious metal pieces tend to devalue at the point of purchase.
other than gold nautiluses, i've very rarely seen PM models from any brand increase in value unless they are absolutely collectable...like the original gold apollo speedy.

the fact that the re-issue is...well, a re-issue...i'm not fully certain that it will retain its value.
look at the current two speedy tuesdays....they're not really jumping up in price. and that silver snoopy is a red herring, imo.

historically speaking, i don't believe there are a whole lot of omegas out there that are highly coveted collectables, other than a few original pre-moon speedys. and those are steel.

my advice to you is buy with ur heart, not your wallet.
if u can afford the retail price on this piece, then enjoy it.
beyond that, ur guess is as good as mine

I agree with this. It's a great looking watch but 1000+ units is a lot of watches, especially at the $30k price point. I wouldn't let that deter me from a purchase, but I would not assume that this piece would rise in value in the long-term.

Don’t think it would raise in value but it sure is beautiful!

Thanks guys, not looking for a rise in value, but rather a hold of value ie buy for 30k, and worth 30k in 3, 5 or 7 years time. That’s obviously a small loss due to inflation, but that’s much more palatable than a 10k loss.
Regards

I very much doubt an used piece will be worth the "same" 30k in 10 years.

your PM box is full

Seems like a lot of watches for a PM LE to me. A 250 piece LE for a full gold watch is what i would be after value wise, maybe up to 400 but no more than that.

Beautiful watch no doubt though

I think if it had the re-released cal. 321 it may increase or at least retain much of it's value, but with the co-axial version of the cal. 1863 movement, I doubt it.

So I just put a 5k deposit down for the SS version. I have been told by the omega boutique it will officially be unveiled tomorrow.

Story about it:

Is it possible to buy easy? What you think? Where will it be presented and when?

Not for me with the modern 3861 movement in it. May be technologically superior movement, but the re-issue should have the same movement as the original IMO.

I still own my 20th anniversary edition, had it serviced by Omega and rarely wear it any more, stays in the original box. I do love this one a lot!

No, Omega has jumped the shark on limited pieces. Way too many.
