Help me identify this Day Date

A relative passed this Day Date on to me. I know almost nothing about these watches, and would really appreciate help in identifying the specific model and vintage.

Thanks!

We'll we can tell you a thousand things about it

But first go through the search function and try 1803 or Day Date

Do you know the serial number ?

You can find that when you remove the bracelet at the 6 o'clock

Bracelet seem worn . . . to refurbish it . . . we're talking about $ 850.00 + shipping . . .

It was a pretty expensive watch when new . . .

Is it a yellow or white gold (not really clear in the pic) ?

It's yellow gold. The lighting and my poor photo skills make it appear light colored.

The Day-Date has long been considered the Rolex flagship model, but there have been several significant modifications over the years. For more info on yours, remove the bracelet from the 6:00 side of the watch (easily done) and post the reference number there. We can give you much more accurate info when we know which reference we're dealing with.

Certainly is a 1803, I would say, with a "Fatboy" dial, named for the larger hour markers and hands.

My guess would be around end 60's to early 70's.

Post some more pics, also from the bracelet if You can.

x2. 1803 with a fatboy pie pan dial. Cool watch. Is the bracelet hidden clasp ?

As others have said ref. 1803.

This is a plastic crystal, non quick-set day-date Rolex.

It has a so-called "fat boy" dial. This is in regards to the dial's markers.

Its a lovely piece, I saw a similar on ebay recently.

Holy thread revival! I know MY takes some time to do his work, but wow!

Nice work by Mr. Young, as usual. Great looking watch.
