Intermingle, solid, and hollow center link oyster bracelet

I would like to preface this by saying, I have heard of shady pawnshop dealers, selling a modern Rolex, and switching out a few of the links for vintage, hollow links. So they can save some gold.
If this is true, this means hallow in solid center links can fit together. I would love to keep my hollow end link, and attach an oyster bracelet with solid center links. Does anybody have any thoughts if it should be possible?

Thanks!
