116710LN vs. 126710BLNR Jubilee for my Birthday

Hey there,

as my 40th birthday is coming closer and I would like to gift me with a special Rolex for this occasion, I would love to share my thoughts about the watches I am thinking about.

I already have a Datejust 36 (blue dail, oyster bracelet, smooth bezel from 2021) and an Explorer 36 from 2022.

I am on the list for a Submariner (no date) and Yachtmaster 40 slate dial. As far as my AD can say, he expects that he can allocate me the sub by the end of this year. The last two times, he was very reliable with his predictions. The Yachtmaster should come next year.

For my birthday I would like to buy a watch that is very unlikely to get from my AD. As I have already mentioned in another post, a Daytona would be awesome but I am still not sure if I want to spend that amount of money for a watch.

Two other watches I am drawn to are the 116710LN (have an offer for a 07.2013, very good condition for $12.300) and a Batgirl (have an offer for a new and unworn, 04.2023 for $17.700). Both sellers are reliable.

At the moment I am leaning a bit more towards the LN, as I like the understated look and the much lower price. I would also like to wear the watch in the office and like that it doesn't scream too much. I am not sure if the blue on the Batgirl isn't too playful or loud for my style. I am more the classic and not so much the jeans type.

The Batgirl is also a beautiful and amazing watch that I have always wanted to have and the price is very good compared to where it was a year ago.

I know that the LN is very similar to the sub I am going to get, but this wouldn't be a dealbreaker for the LN as they wear very different in my opinion.

Besides of loving to wear the watch, I want the peace of mind that my money is parked kind of safely in it - but I think this is the case for both of them (or do you think is one of them better than the other).

What do you think? Are the offers mentioned above are good for these watches?Looking forward to your comments!
