Pam 00111

Just wanna seek some general thoughts here.

What do you think of the Luminor Marina 44mm PAM 00111?

Is this a good investment?

The pam 111 is a pretty basic model and overall an easy sell. For the right price I would say it is a very good investment. Good luck!

Love it, looking for one myself. At MSRP it doesn't seem like a good investment. If you can find a preowned one in good condition, you might get your money back if you decide to sell.

Financial? Emotional? Watches are not a financial investments...unless you own a rare vintage piece..pam111 will always be in demand because of the price point....you might get your money back, maybe little less, so is that an investment? You didn't lose much nor did you gain much...so was it a good investment? I would say no! Were you happy while you wore the watch? If yes, then it was worth it....pam 111 is not quite special enough to warrant as an investment, financially.....

Great watch but it will not appreciate in value significantly.

Not an investment, but rather a good model to start

with. If you are concerned with losing value, look for a nice pre-owned piece. Most watches do not appreciate, with the exception of some "rare" models.

Nice watch (Marina model, not Base) - sandwich dial, etc. The ETA movement is well proven and easily maintained. Bear in mind though that it does not hack i.e. the hands keep moving when you pull out the crown to set the time.

Thanks for the info.

I am unaware that the 6497 is a non-hacking movement.

It can be modified to hack (usually when also modified to a centre-seconds configuration), however in this application all three hands keep running when you pull out the crown to set the time. Also, of course, there are no minute markers on the dial so setting the time accurately can be rather hit & miss (somewhat ironic given that the movement is COSC certified). However, I think this suits the 'relaxed' nature of the watch.

I agree that the non-hacking movement is quite a turn-off.

The Luminor Base models do not have a small seconds sub-dial at all.

How do you know the watch is working or accurate?

It's a nice watch, worth getting if you like it.
