gold vs ss/gold

Why does a RSC service for an all gold or platinum piece cost more than a stainless/gold or stainless steel piece? Just curious; I was shown the rolex price sheet and saw the list prices. Aren't the movements the same? Thanks.

Sorry if this question is in the wrong place, or a dumb one. I see lots of views but no responses.

Precious metal watches take extra precautions to ensure the softer metals are not damaged. The gold replacement parts, such as the spring-bars, are also gold instead of SS and cost more.

I think that there has always been an up-charge for pm models..
