Strap Smell....
This is going to be a weird post, but I got an after market strap for my 111j, it looks great but it smells pretty bad. I'm not sure why it does ... it's from Panatime if that means anything.
I don't want to return it since it wouldn't be worth it. Anybody have any issues w/ this? Thanks. |

Maybe you need to work on your personal hygiene?
Maybe your diet makes your sweat stinky? Seriously, I've found that sometimes my sweat 'reacts' to some of the thicker aftermarket leather straps, I kinda suspect that maybe the leather isn't 100% cured? Or maybe it's the chemicals. In truth I don't think it'll go away either. |

Hehe, my wife would have a tendency to agree w/ you MrTito. But yeah, strap is new, and I haven't particularly been sweaty these past few days. I emailed Panatime for refund. |

I had my latest strap for about a month now. It still has that great leather smell. In fact, none of my strap have an odor.

Return it if you can... It's too nice of a watch to have a smelly band. Remember "Smelly Cat" from Friends...

i have a Simona X-1 dive strap on my 243 for 1.5 years now. strap is still smelling good. then again i have never gotten the strap wet, even if there is sweat i make it a point to wipe it clean and dry it fully overnight.

Haha, I do remember smelly cat.
Okay, so I just haven't had time to really do anything about--HOWEVERRRR I have been slowly taking wiffs of it more and more... and oddly enough, the STANK is starting to smell pretty damn good. I feel like a perv now 8-) |
