Patrick Dustin Calim...unfair and cannot hold a gentleman's agreement.
Forum moderators please forgive me if this is not allowed here. Just want to get the word out in case anyone else deals with this guy.
Patrick Dusin Calim from Palo Alto, CA. I have sold many watches within the forum and on ebay and this one was a first. This will be the first time I write a negative comment about anyone within the forum. Dustin had contacted me a number of times regarding a watch via text showing much interest when he saw it within the forums then disappearing without a word after he had worked me down to my rock bottom price...He did this twice! Quite annoying and a lack of respect for others time. Then few weeks later due to an error in my ebay listing which just went up was put at auto accept instead of auto decline by my staff he offered and it accepted automatically. When notifying him that this was clearly a mistake as he know's the lowest price I had already offered to him privately he refused and already paid by paypal knowing that I had made him all offer as bankwire. He did this to lock in the deal and didn't care if it was an error. He was lucky with his timing as I was traveling and just landed in Tokyo. So I said sure I will accept it since it was an error on my half only if we can agree to bankwire and work together so I don't go negative on this watch . He agreed and I shipped it to him with the agreement that once he gets it and accepts the condition he would then send me wire and I refund his paypal. I have since tried to contact him a number of times via phone and text in the past 2 weeks, no answer to his phone and no reply to text. Something as simple as a gentleman's agreement cannot even be honored by this character. So I would say this. Deal with caution. He doesn't give a damn if he's putting you negative on a deal and will burn you on a simple agreement. |

Unfair
hnltime, I read your post that you put out for the whole world to see, and it sounds like you are a very poor businessman, As the seller you made an error in your price and then blamed your purchaser / customer for purchasing the item at your named price. Sounds like you need to get your s*** together before you start an ebay auction or list something for sale. I have had many dealings with Dustin and he is as honest as they come.
For you to bash him in an open forum for your mistake is a direct reflection of your stupidity. You own that man an apologie. |

LOL!! An apology? Why don't you tell your boy to man up and keep his word. Why are you writing in for someone else? He agreed to that, that was our deal. Then he disappeared after he got the watch. People like you guys are the reasons why dealers here hate dealings online. No honor and you hide behind your keyboard. You get away burning people and dropping names of other watch dealers to try get a better price. Extremely cheap and sad to see people be so low... Yea he dropped names and those dealers told me they don't even know him. AS A MAN YOUR WORD IS EVERYTHING. Shows a lot of character about you two.

I have dealt with David many times. He is a man of his word. An honest error is just that..an honest error! It happens every now and then, when you have employees putting up the prices on ebay or any forum in that case! David has tons of positive feedback and posts. He is a stand up guy. I don't see anything wrong that David did here and your suggestion is absurd. The fact that he is writing the first negative feedback after almost 7 years on the forum is also tell on how stand-up of a guy he is!

I have been dealing with David for years now and a) if he writes a negative review, it's warranted - David is one of the calmest dudes I've met, b) he's as straight up as it gets, one of the best guys in this business and c) I'd trust him with my safe combination any day.

Original post is basically a year old and offers all we need to know.
Seller sent watch, buyer didn't pay. Who cares about the guy who made an account just to vouch for his "friend" (probably Patrick himself). David, hopefully you've had some resolution since this was originally posted?

To clarify, I wasn't burned for the whole amount. We had an agreement in the sale that he would wire me once he received the watch and I refund back his PayPal. This was so I could save on the fee because in the end I lost out overall on the deal. He was horrible to deal with. Made offers, I agreed to the price, then he would disappear. He did it twice to me. He go lucky when we posted it on ebay. The error was, instead of auto decline the amount was filled in auto accept so he low balled it even less and it auto accepted his offer. He paid by PayPal and when I landed in Tokyo I found out. Told him he knew what my bottom already was and it was clearly a mistake. He would not accept and I didn't want to deal with negative feedback from him on ebay so I said I'll just sell it and honor my mistake and sell it to him but I need to do it via wire so I don't go negative on the deal. He agreed promised he would wire me to help me out, then disappeared once he got the watch.
