Interesting to see so much departure from the classic case finishing this year. Polished Pt bezel on a ROC... frosted gold finish...

More of this to come?

APs new strategy...roll our new watches without prices. If the masses don't like them then lower the price like the CE 44mm. If they love them then jack up the price and don't give any to ADs.
The AP stock market. Buying AP watches will be like buying shares.

Actually, all bezels other than ceramic and cermet are scratch magnet. Only that the Pt bezel will cost a bomb to replace for sure. I might be wrong but is Ti more resistant to scratches compared to PM and SS?

The AD where I bought mine told me today that he has been allocated 1 this year but he has also been left under the impression that the watch will also be discontinued this year.

The 1 might not mean much. I was told 2 years ago when I wore mine at the boutique that they only send 12 a year to the US. Discontinuance would be nice, but I think it'll remain a dog. I'm shocked nonetheless that a platinum AP goes in the secondary market for the mid 40s.

Yeah.... If you find someone who'll pay more than $44k right now for that watch, you'd be a lucky duck. Maybe it'll get a bump after discontinuance, but I don't think that's a thing with AP as much as Mille or Patek, generally.

C'est la vie, I bought the watch to wear not make a profit on.

SIHH 2017 Thread - Rumors, Facts, Etc...

So I spent some time at the AP booth and unfortunately nothing new overwhelmed me enough to want to part with my money. The double balance wheel open worked was pretty special looking however.

Nice comparison edo. I prefer the white sub dials myself, but would like to see new in person.

That's a great pic. I like 'em both ... hard to tell. New one is growing on me. Looks very slick.

Older has a classic vibe that is hard to beat though.

I wouldn't say old one is way better just because of the subdials. But it looks like the color of the RG didn't change like we thought at first.

Not sure about that just yet, the new RG's case looks more coppery in that pic and it would make sense if so to better match the RG dial text. Apparently ADs have been speculating that both will be offered so choice for all, the classic and the slick.

The old model was still on display so I suspect it will be offered in parallel. I personally prefer the white sub dials more. It gives it a greater element of sportiness.

In that picture they look nearly identical to me. Maybe the new is ever so slightly darker. Maybe.

In most pics, they look the same to me. I think the exisitng RG tone of AP is RG color tone done just right. Not too coopery and not too faint either. Will be great if both are offered. More choices for the consumer.

I didn't see that grey strap on the titanium before. Definitely don't like it.

The Ti is the Shumi Ti knockoff, made with the left overs from the parts bin.
