Datejust not allowing me to wind?

Hello All,
I need some help and was hoping that you all could shed some light on an issue that I recently came across with my wife's Datejust.
When I try to wind it, it does not allow me - it was working and winding fine until recently. The watch seems to be fine otherwise, but when I try to wind it, it's extremely firm and almost feels like it skips or is off. Could it be over wind?

Any ideas or recommendations from the experts in the forum? Did I break it?😂

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it could be a bad clutch wheel or winding pinion. They are known to go bad. Any issue with time setting?

Thanks for your response. No problems setting time.
Today I decided to push it a bit and was able to wind it but it felt extremely tight and I didn't want to continue.

Yah likely dry crown wheel or reverse wheels.

Don't try to wind it. It could break. Time for service. No doubt.
Most likely reversing gears issue.

Edit: Turned out to me the mainspring. They replaced it on full service.

I'll receive it this Saturday.
