PM Fingerprints/Waterspots...

How do you get fingerprints, smudges, waterspots off of your PM, 228239 in particular?

What cloths do you recommend using?

Thank you for the recommendations

No need for any special cloths just any clean cotton type or microfiber cloth will do.

Spit and your sleeve.

Or a moist lens cloth.

Wash it daily with Dawn, a soft small baby wash cloth and dry with a clean hand towel.

To dry it off I just use a plush microfibre cloth.

I'll also use a Selvyt cloth to keep my watch polished... these are very good..

Usually just my shirt. Gold is soft, yeah, but not so soft that my shirt is going to hurt it.

I read an article about auto detailing a while ago. The writer was obsessive about cleaning his car and tested residue left by each brand of soap by cleaning his hard contact lenses with it. He said that only Ivory liquid left absolutely nothing behind and that's what I use on all of my watches. Works great.

Look a microfiber cloth is just that a cloth and as long as its clean anyone will do.Your watch will not know or care whatever cloth you are using, wash regular in plain soap and water dry after with any clean cloth.

A couple times a week I spray some WristClean and then blast it with a hairdrier set to cold. Always sparkling clean afterwards

I clean my spectacles with an alcohol lens wipe as it removes the oils my skin and eyelashes leave on the glass better than a tissue or napkin, and before it goes in the bin I give either my watch, phone screen or laptop keyboard a quick wipe as there is still some alcohol solution there that doesnt go to waste ... other than that I'll use the hem of my cotton t shirt if the crystal has a smudge on it that catches my eye, I dont really lose any sleep about smudges though, and wouldnt be reaching for lens cleaner wipes purely for a fingerprint on my crystal or case.

I dont obsess with what your asking about. I find that less is more in that department and your better served with not continuously cleaning it which will craze all the metal in short order. Just give it a shower and clean it every once in a while with a microfiber after getting out of the shower. I have even gone to using microfiber clothes as my shower wash rag since there so soft.

I agree about your point “your watch will not know or care”.

I would add that the choice among microfiber knits does matter when you consider how much effort one must exert to get the preferred results.

For microfiber to be most effective as a cleaning cloth on a watch, it should be a split microfiber knit. Non-split microfiber is little more than a very soft cloth. And it requires more effort on average uses with your watch surfaces (metal & sapphire or acrylic)

Cloths used on your watch will face removal of a wide range of surface contaminants: skin oils, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, spots, etc. Washing is an option but not always practical (like when out and about). That’s where a higher quality, 100% polyester cloth using 2 µm filaments, will absorb these types of spots without smearing.
