new razor -- oneblade

I have no personal affiliation with this product, but I think it might appeal to the TRF crowd.

I wanted a better shave, but I also didn't want to commit to using a straight edge or safety razor. this works like your standard razor, but is heavy and takes only one blade.

There are three -- one is all 316L steel, one is 316L head and polymer/steel handle, and the lowest priced has a polymer head as well.

the appeal to me is similar to why I like Rolex and Seiko watches. durable, nice finishing, easy to use.

I've yet to try a single blade. I have an extremely tough and thick beard. I use a 5 blade Hydro. Cuts beautifully for a few shaves. Then starts to fall off. I had the most improvement with my cream. I switched to Cremo. https://cremocompany.com/mens-shave/...al-shave-cream

What a world of difference. But, the blade is still not perfect.

maybe I have sensitive skin. I was using a razor from Harry's which was great value and took a 5 blade head. good razor, just too much bleeding and redness for me

What direction do you shave? I shave up and down only and never have bleeding or redness. Its usually when you shave at an angle, left or right that bleeding occurs.

Cremo (and other slickers) not only shave well, but they extend the life of a blade tremendously. It's the best shaving upgrade out there.

It's definitely done both for me. My hair's are very course. Cremo was like heaven opened up for me the first time I used it lol.

just up and down. not exactly nicks or cuts, more like small specks of blood coming from the hair follicles. with the single blade i am no longer having this issue

I only shave my head, I trim my beard. For my use the good old Mach 3 still works great.

Lots of guys on the shaving forums are singing the praises of this single-edge (SE) razor.

Great shave, quality, affordable, last a lifetime, no irritation, no burn.

Next to a straight razor, one of the nicest, irritation free shaves you'll get, highly recommended - great post OP.

$400? $200, maybe. $80, worth a try. Nice design though. The only thing I don’t like about their system is that the razor blades are proprietary, so you’re stuck using just theirs.

Slightly OT: I gave up blade shaving a few months ago (Mach3 cartridge, badger brush and Proraso shaving products). I just got tired of doing it most mornings. It takes a lot of time. I’ve been using a Conair super stubble trimmer at the lowest setting and rocking stubble

If it doesn't hum, I don't use it. Phillips OneBlade for me.

I got the $200 one. Only difference is the handle, and the handle doesn't touch my face

Of course there are!

I use a Razorock Hawk. Similar idea, anodized aluminum for a lot less money. It uses Artist Club blades which are pretty widely available and sharp as anything. And they last 10+ shaves.

I’m part of the hum club now

The Phillips OneBlade Pro was second on my list. I picked up the Conair Super i-stubble based on first hand recommendation from my brother. It’s a wet/dry shaver. I don’t wet shave, but being able to rinse to clean is great. The battery lasts for at least 3 weeks with 6x per week use.

At that price it needs to come with a buxom stylist that operates the razor while I relax in the chair.
