My late 70's 1675

This was my first project watch. I have had it a little over a year.

I wear this watch or late 90's 16710 (currently at RSC NYC) most of the time.

Pepsi is the S$%t! The blue and red is more appealing to me.

I have black and green inserts in custom bezels that easily pop off and are changed in seconds, but the pepsi gets the most time at about 98%. I have an authentic bezel and pepsi insert that I keep safe because I don't want to ruin it. You can see in the pictures the transition the watch has made from when I got it to now.

And now I have a dilemna been wearing my 16750 two days and love it more than I thought I would its stunning. Just vintage enough just modern enough and just eye catching enough.in a year or so of 16610 I had 1 person say "nice watch" today I had 2 people compliment it even one in a meeting ask to try it on.pepsi rules.

So I want to wear it everyday but the problem is that today royal mail special delivery came a 16710 and again whilst very similiar to my outgoing 16610 it just feels nicer, maybe more comfortable/thinner/lighter and more subtle.

So which do I wear on hols for beach and pool and which for office and meetings..... or keep one sell one?

My first & only Rolex, and it's the one that I wanted for years... dad's pepsi GMT (I think it's a 1985. Need to learn more about these...) I remember when he bought it.

After wearing big watches like a Panerai, Omega PO, and a Doxa, I'm amazed at how light & comfortable this watch is on the wrist! It's probably going to be my daily wearer now.

Thanks! Sounds silly, but this watch & the one he bought while in Vietnam mean the world to me.

Here's one more

This is a 1675 I bought in 1963.

Except for cleanings and in a couple places in 'Nam where I didn't want to risk it, have worn it every day.

Bought it because is was the best looking rugged watch available in a great jewelry store in Singapore.

HOLY MOLY!!! That is beautiful and still with the original owner makes it even better!!!!

I think your watch has substantially increased in value over the 50 years, i am sure you never guessed that when you bought it?

You're correct there, Baltimore Brian! Have no idea what it is worth and have been trying to get an idea for insurance purposes. I recall paying somewhere around $125 for it in 1963, which at the time was a big chunk of a young Naval Officer's monthly pay. I never paid too much attention to what it was worth until about 6/7 years ago when a golfing buddy watched me toss the watch unceremoniously into a pocket in my golf bag. He almost fainted and gave me a stern lecture on the value of these watches. I became very careful after that, and try to keep up with things here on the forum when I have a chance. Pat Ogren

Icon6 1977 GMT Master

-How long have you owned it - one year

-How much time does it get in your rotation - daily wearer to chagrin of rest of rotation that used to come out for weekly ride each.

-Why you own a Pepsi, not a coke or black bezel insert - because it was the original combination I remember seeing on pilots as a little boy when we would pick up dad at LaGuardia or JFK in 1960s when he would return from his traveling salesmen job. It was embedded in my brain and had to have one when the time was right.

My 3185 Pepsi.

Just bought it a few days ago. Plan on wearing it as my daily watch. I think the pepsi is iconic, much better looking than the black or coke. This is my 3rd. I bought one, wanted a larger watch so I traded it for a deepsea, then I missed it, so I got a 3186. Sold that back in April and missed it again so I got this. It is a 2001, but it looks brand new, the original owner must have never worn it. Hopefully I won't sell this one.
