Trade advice. Give up a D serial Pepsi?

I’m interested in trading for a 116655 Everose Gold Yatch-Master. I’m thinking of trading my D Serial GMT Pepsi and a 1969 Yellow Gold 1601 Gold Datejust. I have a Batman GMT so the Pepsi doesn’t get much use.
I’m wondering if it’s a bad idea to give up the Pepsi since it’s the most collectible watch I have? Just wondering what the opinions are out there.
Another potential trade watch would be my Caliber 11 Jo Siffert.
Thanks

I wouldn't keep anything just because it's collectible. If you don't enjoy it by wearing it what's the point. I'm not saying to sell or trade but I know I wouldn't care to have a safe queen. For me, wrist time or no time.

It's only collectable if you are collecting it.

Why hang onto a watch because collectors are collecting them if you aren't one?

The more I go along in this hobby, the more I see the folly of trading 2 for 1. Don't trade both for the 116655. It's a great watch, but don't give up 2.

Different strokes for different folks, as if I were in your shoes, it would be the Pepsi that was stealing all the wrist time over the Batman!

Never let go the 16710 Pepsi. The price is always going up for the older Pepsi as it is the true Pepsi. Not the new amalgamation they have now!

FWIW, after I got my Sky D I let my 16700 go in trade. I really didn't feel that much attraction to it. I'd say the real choice needs to be based on your felling towards the watches in question and not on what others feel about them.

16710 gets a lot of hype around here but every time I have seen one in person its done nothing for me. I think the rose gold YM is one of the nicest watches Rolex makes - I would do the trade personally.

I sold a 16700 coke and a 16710 Pepsi and have not missed them at all. If you're not wearing it, it's fine to let it go.

If you are not wearing, ask yourself why are you keeping it for?

There are many collectors, with own reasons. Are you one of them? If not, why keep/collect?

I personally would not. However, if the BLNR is getting all the wrist time and you don’t want to keep the 16710/datejust then why not get a piece you will wear and want.

The BLNR is the hyped up piece to dump if you ask me. A late no holes 16710 is the keeper there.

Did something similar earlier this year , sold my Subc that I hardly wore for a matte dial 16800 & have no regrets at all . If it ain't singing to you anymore, trade away .

I would do the deal. I believe the market is in a bubble for values and the 5 digit GMT is riding high in the market. I would tell you that if you loved the watch don't do it but you don't, so there is your answer. I like the Tag Heuer Autavia as I think it is a great value and a cool watch without the Daytona price and you have one of the most collectable ones. We have gotten into too much value based hype on TRF and many times we have forgotten that while money is important we are not speculators but watch lovers. Get the watch you want. Make the trades needed to achieve the watch and wear it and enjoy. When you are ready for another move, go for it. Good luck.
