5712 as a daily...

Good afternoon All… I’m about to be an owner of this gorgeous piece! One will leave my collection, as I’m comfortable with the number that I have, but I have not decided which piece yet. I’ve been admiring this piece for a while, just never pulled the trigger until now. I have been a diehard Rolex fan for a long time, but I have owned PP in the past. I’m going to diversify again, as I think this will fit in nicely.(Incoming pics soon)
I’m planning on giving this a whole lot of wrist time VS my PT Daytona.
Any owners out there that would like to share their feelings on wearing this as a daily? Or at least 4 to 5 times a week?
Thanks for any input, I appreciate it!

I wear it a lot. I tend not to wear it with anything with sleeves so that I don’t risk marketing up thr Bezel. If I have to wear a jacket. I wouldn’t wear it.

:). But it’s a great daily

Like others have mentioned, it is suitable as a daily wearer but having wrist awareness is a must. Good thing it is so thin that it won’t get banged up like a thicker watch. I wear mine in rotation and it is still minty.

What piece are you getting rid off? Congrats in advance

Great daily, but you just need to exercise wrist awareness. I've worn mine 4-6 times a week for a few months and it still looks mint.

This^ if you are picky about scratches. The ceramic bezel on the Platona is a different animal, meaning it can take a beating....but that Patek is a great piece and you should get it if possible. I like it once my watches have enough micro scratches that larger scratches are less noticeable once they begin to happen...that is when I start to really enjoy my watches because I don’t care what happens any more. I am not that picky about scratches, but a big deep scratch on the face of a new watch is never fun.

I refuse to have wrist awareness. Just keep adding scratches. Looks good regardless.

Congratulations, that is a great daily. I rotate between Nautilus/Aqua mostly, it will get minor hairline swirls after a few months. Not a big deal IMO.

Congratulations on owning one of the nicest and most sought after watches ever made!

I wear mine a lot during the week, although mostly under a shirt cuff. For weekends when in polo / t-shirt i prefer wearing my Aqua or a Rolex. But life is short and Patek can always polish bezel scratches away at service time, so enjoy and wear the h*** out of that beauty!

Great watch. The have worn mine off and on since I bought it back in Dec /007. It WILL get scratched. Just a part of owning the watch. I get annoyed by some of the scratches but overall you won’t notice most. I wear it everywhere including the beach. It’s an awesome daily wearer. Light as air but great wrist presence. Enjoy it and wear the hell out of it. It’s one of the ones that it a long term keeper!

Amazing piece Richard, congrats! Curious to know which one would leave if staying at 5 pieces, but the week has 7 days so perhaps room for one more!

7 days....good point..lol I’m actually good with 3-5 pieces. I only have one without the date and I find myself looking for quite a bit when I wear it. Not a deal breaker but sometimes annoying. So it’s got me thinking...I wouldn’t mind recouping some of the $’s I laid out for the 5712. And I love this blue dial as well
