Dear Sir, you are 71 years young.

Surely you could use your age to your advantage to move up the queue for the four said references.

Plenty of good years ahead of you.

Vintage 4 digit DJ’s. Small ladies watches, stretched out ratty jubilee bracelets. Oh and that god awful cyclops. Oh the 70’s called and wants their flutter bezel back.

And don’t even get me started on the Tudor line. Cheep knockoffs of the real thing. Why any one would wear on is beyond me.

....oh wait...I may have read the question wrong...never mind.
I totally share your sentiments, bravo!!!!

Tudors are in-house knockoffs :)

What is an entry level for you? Is a Date Just smooth bezel an acceptable entry level as well?

no more so than a Toyota is a knockoff of a Lexus. Pretty sure people driving around in 4Runners or land cruisers don't think they have a knockoff car since its the cheaper version.

I know, but Tudor is widely known as the second-fiddle brand to Rolex in Hong Kong and that sentiment is pretty prevalent and deep-rooted.

I can't say I dislike any of them to be honest. The one I least see myself buying is the DJ though. I just prefer the sports models I suppose - although I could see myself with a DD!!

I love Rolex watches. They make many models to suit many tastes.

Personally, I will avoid YM2, Sky Dweller, Deep Sea & SD (cool but too thick), any modern Explorer 1 & 2 (prior models are very cool), OP, DJ41 Air-King and Milgauss. Anything will stones, gems, etc...

This is a good analogy. I don't see them as directly competing with each other. Someone who "wants a Rolex" is going to buy a Rolex. Different price points, different market. Rolex goes to extremes to make sure Rolex and Tudor do NOT compete with each other as much as possible. Just like Lexus and Toyota go after different markets even though they share many underlying components with each other and are both great vehicles.

Maxi-case, due to the grossly unproportional asthetics.

YachtMaster-II. A piece that has never grown on me - didn't like it from when it first came out in WG only, all the way to today.

We all have different tastes, that’s part of what makes life interesting.
Agree with these gentlemen. And...while I do agree that it's OK to disagree, more times than not the guys who don't like a particular model don't do it in a tactful or respectful manner, so the tone of their post is insulting. And things go downhill from there.

My post was made in jest toward threads aimed at trashing certain watches, many owned by the members here. I hold Tudor in high regard. There’s one on my wrist right now.

Thanks, exactly what I was thinking. Very few of their watches I'd consider buying. It's somewhat tempered by what I already own as well. I do see the CHNR on the horizon for me however.

Haha what’s not to love about ym2 ?

I am not a fan of Daytona...and it’s the one Rolex I will least likely purchase.

Not a fan... because I can’t get one from any Los Angeles AD at MSRP

and least likely to buy.... because I refuse to pay $8k premium.

(But my wife has other ideas about the white Daytona..lol)

The Yachtmaster 2 is not a watch that meant to please everyone. So it definitely takes some special taste to like it.
