Short thoughts

I have to say I will always been a total Rolex enthusiast.

However this watch has set me into deep feelings of pleasure.

Above: Check out the cool second hand shadow on the 12 O'Clock marker!
SLA017-20-4-18-.jpg

Sorry the photos are a bit grubby, but I'm trying out the new camera, and its a total killer, just awesome photos without even trying or reading the manual.

I have to say (of course I'm saying it now) that the dial on this watch is an absolute joy to behold.

I apologise for the mediocre photos but I will get better.

Only 2,000 of this watch made, but who cares, it is a totally delightful dial, I can't get enough of it. You know that feeling when you are in ecstasy with the visual pleasure a watch brings to you, well this watch has the ability to do this to me now.

Great watch and I have looked at it several times at my AD but find it too small for my wrists. Wish it was larger and it would be mine and might push out some others.

Steve,

You're describing the exact reason we are driven by this hobby. The amazing feeling experienced when you have the perfect specimen on your wrist.

Congrats and enjoy, my friend!!

OK but the case size is 39.9mm so it is virtually the same as a Rolex SubC (40mm). Moreover, the bezel is much narrower so the dial is commensurately larger.

At first blush it may look small, but I can definitely say, its a great size for maximum comfort and utility (for me)

Thank you for sharing Steve, the dial does look amazing

I also like the applied markers which seem to float which gives it some depth. Great to see the passion here for Seiko

Thanks Dan, yes I'm very thrilled with this watch. Pity is wasn't 20mm (instead of 19mm) lugs, but it is a tribute watch to the first Seiko diver.

Having said that I was riding my bicycle today along the beach with a blue sky and I could not resist continually admiring the beauty to behold in the dial/hand configuration.

Seiko hit it out of the park with this watch, I am rarely so enamoured by a watch (well unless it is new to me) but this watch is totally next level.

Yes there is a lot of passion for Seiko, make no mistake...and it will be evidenced in a giveaway too (but I didn't say that).

Thank you Sir, its basically 40mm (39.9mm) so its a great size, and it actually wears smaller, but I should do a comparison shot with a Rolex SubC to give you a real comparison.....watch this space.

Great watch! Glad for you that you like it so much. What a great feeling to have.

The sunburst grey reminds me a little of a Bathyscape, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Beautiful watch, Steve. I am a huge Seiko fan. The watch is perfect in many ways, size design and comfort among them. Plus it is reliable and great looking. Enjoy it.

This watch is rediculously underrated. I think it’s my 2nd favorite watch behind my Daytona.

Can't agree more Steve. Seiko makes the best value watch for the buck, probably bar none.

Such a pity there are still many people who will thumb their noses at these watches just because of the Seiko name.

One more photo:

SLA017-Beach1.jpg

These are sold (limited to 2,000) out so you will need to acquire one from the usual online sources.
