Wow, that was great.

I have been contemplating a pair of shell cordovan Alden boots from Leather Soul the next time they take a special order.

They have the Alden Men's Indy Boot High Top Blucher Workboot in Dark Brown Kudu Style #: 404 which has a commando rubber sole.

They also have the Alden Men's Indy Boot High Top Blucher Workboot
Style #: 40513HC is made with commando sole. Chamois upper is a heavily oiled upper providing additional protection in wet weather, not waterproof.

Both of these can be purchased thru TheShoeMart.com

I've been wanting a pair of the Alden 6244F tan suede Unlined Flex sole loafer.

The cordovan boots are neat, but my fingers don't like shoelaces.

It kind of pains me to see Horween go throughout their whole process, and then just pass them over to Allen Edmonds.

Tanners historically handed finished leather to shoemakers, saddlemakers, etc. - it protects them from one or the other firms going bust.

Love those

I might just try a pair of those. I know the chromexcel is really good in adverse weather.

Very interesting & thanks for posting. I'm a big fan of front quarter horsehide for my jackets and often wondered what happened to the rear quarter.
