Love that strap - can you buy straps like that online? I have bought NATOs for my Sub in the past but never thought about a nice leather strap for my datejust.

Only 6 weeks old. My first Rolex. I like the SS case and black dial. For me it's one watch I can wear anywhere, anytime.

Hi this beautiful watch seems to be the same as mine (with a different bezel) - see the first post of this thread. Do you know the serial number (or year) and model?

Dad's DJ, a 1973 1601 - his daily wear when he was still with us. This watch started my appreciation of watches in general & Rolex in particular.

The datejusts don't get much love around here, well not as much as the SS sports models, but I think they can look just as beautiful as any other vintage watches.

I simply love this one - it's pure simplicity - and it looks great with a suit.

Beautiful

Just yesterday I was thinking that you know you are getting older when your vintage Rolex is a watch that you bought new. I bought a Date in 1980 and was wondering if they are more or less rare than a datejust. I do recall not feeling like I could afford the datejust at the time.

mine is the same, although with a Stainless steel (off brand) bracelet (Give me a break, my grandfather had a small wrist and I am a college student).

Violetman, is that the Emblem of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?
