I'm seriously pleased for you, what an inheritance to have,

I purchased a 5513 dated 1968, Mine has a 1520 Calibre movement, the photos of yours doesn't indicate whether its a 1520 or a 1530 Calibre, was Phillip able to advise to which it is? as for the restoration work, wow.. I'm very impressed, be proud

movement is 1520 I believe. Phillip will have to chime in to confirm.

My thanks to everyone who posted well wishes. Most appreciated.

Beautiful and moving, Doc!

Thank you and thanks to Mr. Ridley for the submissions and story line on this incredible, historical journey of your watch. Kudos to Dolores for saving it for you. That, in itself, is heart warming.

Your cute, little gal will obviously continue the legacy!

Blessings,
DM

That is an incredible story and thanks for posting. It is great to have something like this to pass down to a child. Something they see you with everyday and associate with you later in life is truly a treasure. I have a birth year watch I wear all the time that will be my sons one day. When he graduated high school I bought him a nice birth year watch and make a point of taking photos of him wearing it on different occasions so he will have a record of it for his kids one day.

Here he is the year he graduated high school wearing the watch on vacation. Again, congratulations on a fine watch and a great story.

What an amazing story and journey. I have a 126600 put to one side for my son but after reading this I am confident my 16610LV will have much more meaning to him, that being the case when he gets his SD he can choose what he wants to do with it.

Amazing pics of it being worn back then right up to today and..............What a 911. Maybe I'll still have my C4S in 20+ years and he can enjoy that too.

What a great story and accompanying photos. Your dad lived a fuller life in his short time here than most of us! Itís awesome that you have the photos and the momento with which to remember him and to expose him to your own child.

And $26 for an offshore (Hawaii) trip?? Sign me up!

Such a heart warming story - truly a watch from generation to generation.

I will pass my watches to my kids and hopefully they and their next generation can come back to this forum and post their stories with the watches.
