I know that the Omega logo badge thingy is slightly different, but I would be surprised if there is much noticeable difference between the lume colours. When I was looking at a 321 before Christmas the colour of the lume did not stand out to me as being very different to a Speedy Pro.

I suspect that the basics are the same. The same size, shape and colour of the dial and the same hands as the display case back model of Speedy Pro..

Moonwatch - The Legacy Continues (New Moontwatch being announced)

Okay reporting back

The dial is different. The best way to describe it is the new 3861 dial is half way between the old and 321. The main difference is the texture of the dial. The 3861 has the scruff texture all over the dial whilst the 321 is smoother Matt with some radial markings on the subdial.

Both have the pronounced step down.

Lume colour is definitely different.

Also the the new 3861 dial looks more HD than the old one and instantly more refined. So the best analogy I can give is the old dial looks like a picture in 1080p. The moon watch 1440p and the 321 in 4K.

Incredibly hard to describe but in the metal you can see the difference straight away.

Sorry My iPhone photos from look terrible and I was unable to capture the difference.

However, In some photos where the stepped dial really shines and stands out, I actually also find it to concurrently look more “cluttered” than the old with slightly reduced legibility. Not sure if that’s true in real life or not.

The bracelet is the most obvious change. I like that it’s flush with the lugs, and on its own I do like the pattern/style more and more. I’m indifferent to the taper. But again I do find it just a bit “busy”, and somehow the with the changes to the dial the whole watch does seem more busy overall.

I don’t like the new clasp. Much prefer the Apollo 11/Ed White style there. And still not adjustable.

The movement is obviously superior on the new one. But, I also like that the old has basically been a workhorse for 60 years with little change.

Also a small detail, but I prefer the case back text of the old.

All said snd done, I’m happy with my 1861 purchase, and of course there’s no wrong choice. Both excellent watches, but feel like the value is there in the 1861.

I bought an 1861 Sapphire Sandwich on a leather strap early last year. No regrets.

I have the 1861 Speedmaster that came before the new 3861, and saw the 3861 in person recently. I thought the updates were nice, but they didn't wow me. I wouldn't upgrade from a 1861 for the price difference. My 2 cents.

Yes, saw this too, Indeed, really nice photos. Kinda make me want a Sapphire version over the Hesalite... tough choice.

So would it be fair to say that, regarding the dials, the obvious differences are less writing on the 321 (No Professional obviously), slightly different coloured lume and the hour markers on the 321 are longer? Otherwise the basic dials are the same?

I didn't notice are differences in the surfaces of the dials, but I wasn't really looking that closely.

Having watched the film again, I see that the 321 has each minute divided into 5 like the old Speedy Pro. whereas the new Speedy Pro's dial has less marks between each minute marker.
