I have thought many times about getting the Railmaster. Very nice watch! Love the see through back and the new co-axial movement is outstanding. The Rail Master has a rich history dating from 1957 and much earlier. Also has a history linking it to RR travel through China.

The Lum is great on that watch!

or try this....

for an alternative (lower cost - approx US $ 1k) try the Oris BC3 Day Date

http://www.oris.ch/collections/colle...duct=110&ln=en

Oris are 'pure' mechanical watches (they do not make quartz) Swiss watches

Railmasters vary in price based on which of the many models. I just acquired a Railmaster Chronometer and it was a bit more than $2000. (Pictures soon, btw).

The watch is very elegant in person. It has a clean, classic look that will be appreciated by anyone who enjoys Omega in general. To the untrained eye it is a conservative looking stainless piece that won't garner unwanted attention.

There is a 49mm version and it is HUGE. I do like the 41mm version, that is very nicely sized.

That is a beautiful watch. I love Omega - they have gone from being a somewhat stodgy even boring producer of fine watches about 6 or 7 years ago to a top producer of stylish top-quality time pieces.

Now, if they would just stop making so many watches, they could create a mystique and also have a bigger collector following. Larry.

That is an absolute beauty.

I once had the pleasure of owning the Aqua Terra 41 mm version with date and superb black dial. Loved it. Very dress and sporty at the same time.

Wear it in good health!!

Love that Railmaster 41 is a good size too but 49? Good lord isn't that a shield? (See pics below)

I've always liked the Railmaster and came close to buying one on a couple of occasions...

Speaking of Omega I just pulled the trigger on a nice Omega Aqua Terra... pics to follow soon!

No date complication makes a manual wind no hardship really.

The 41mm Omega looks huge on the wrist as it is, I can barely imagine another 8mm... compare:
