How about ... before you make a post concerning ' SCARCITY, INVESTMENT, RARE,...'

you need to be AT LEAST 5 years a member on this forum ?

Under your avatar you see your 'JOIN DATE' ... if it's not before 2014, please do not ask these stupid questions over and over again.

Just take the time to learn and read about watches. and this forum is a good start ... if its not flooded with that kind of posts

I hope you understand this post is a bit 'Tongue-in-cheek' ... but on the other hand I really had it with all these posts.

Still read this forum very often and I do still enjoy it ... but the number of investment posts so annoying.

So please NO more

- complaining that you can't get that GMT, Daytona, green sub
- asking if you should buy the first ceramic pepsi with the ugly colored bezel or the other one
- questions about premiums
- will the BLRO or the BLNR on Jubilee be the most sought after in the future

and BTW, if you just joined ... Tudor is NOT the poor man's Rolex ...

I dont care if you have been here 10 years or 20 years, if you act stupid(asking stupid questions) you are stupid.

Maybe a sub-forum for "Watch Values and Investment", it would thin out the main forum a lot. And it could encompass also other brands like Patek or what have you.

I'm a relatively new member who has been learning more about the brand over the last few months via this forum. I find these kind of posts very obnoxious and of little value. It makes me want to visit the forum less frequently than I otherwise might because there's so much "junk" to scroll through...I don't have the time.

I'd also like to see an end to the "Incoming!" posts unless its a very, very newly released watch that few have seen in the wild.

Great idea. Not necessarily valuation, because that would create all sorts of issues, but a subforum focused on supply, demand, and long term forecasts would thin out the nuisance posts in the "for the love of Rolex" forum.

Smart readers read and contribute to conversations that annoy them. Smart readers also self-curate the information they choose to consume. If a subject line indicates a repetitive subject, a well answered theme or simply not to your taste - move along.

Some of these posts are not to my taste. In much the same way I avoid the Brady Bunch and how to save 4 cents a litre when buying fuel for the car, great more mince recipes and how to power dress at at an op shop - I don’t despair, I move on.

Don’t click. It’s liberating.

But bear in mind that this forum caters to a gal who has saved six years for an en entry Level Rolex piece and loves to a gal who picks up a bonus and buys a platona. This place caters to a broad audience and that’s what you’ll tend to get. Eager, sincere, repetitive questions.

For me it's the guys who think watches have sexes, and WIS size queens. I think these two are related.

I'd propose taking off a year from the join date every time a member shakes their non dominant wrist at the nouveau Rolex luxury set and shouts "get off my hulk green lawn."

These are the most stupid questions:
1.asking age.
2.what you are wearing today.

I mentioned before you had to have a 1000 posts before you posted about nicknames but this should be extended to all - will I make money? threads too. This generation has no time to study or read, they want everything now.

That would mean the end of Rolex general discussion.

Perhaps that would be a good thing since the "general discussion" is little more than "open discussion" and rarely about actual watch content.

I'm not so sure Brian. I think we get moody sometimes and complain more than we should. I just looked at the main page right now and there's nothing extraordinary going on. Members are discussing watch related topics as far as I could see.
