I would consider this a serious watch. Great value for the money compared to the new Seadweller.

Oh, it's a mighty fair question. They make giant watches w super shiny bracelets. How could one not question.

First rate watches, yes. The Navitimer is an iconic watch, considered by many as a must in a watch collection. I bought mine in 1999. I wore it the day I was married and the night my daughter was born. It's a keeper! Mercury astronaut Scott Carpenter wore a Navitimer with a 24 hour dial (configured that way at his request). Today's Navitimer Cosmonaut celebrates that watch, worn in outer space before the Moonwatch. I've heard that graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy often get a Breitling as a graduation present, due to the strong connection with aviation. On TV, at congressional hearings, I've noticed quite a few general officers, particularly Air Force, wearing Breitlings.. I bought the Cosmonaut, too. The 24 hour dial takes getting used to, but is very handy once you get the hang of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

My Breitling is a tank! I have had it 3 years now and still love it. It is a very big and heavy watch; much heavier than my Rolex. I actually like the bracelet better on my Breitling. It feels stronger and better quality than my Rolex.
I love the attention to detail (the "B" on the side of the bezel, the emblem on the dial, the anchor on the second hand, the engraved case back, and the bubbled sapphire crystal to name a few things) Before I owned my Rolex I actually liked Breitling's better than Rolex. Now my opinion has changed, but Breitling is still top notch in my book. My one complaint: the bezel markers will scratch or tear anything they bump into! |

Remember too that like Rolex, Bose sells more speakers than anyone else in the world. You don't need to know anything about watches to know Rolex; same with speakers and Bose. But I doubt anyone considers B&W to be lesser than Bose simply because the latter sells more product. |

I believe (and I could be wrong) that Breitling COSC's all of their movements - including their quartz types (super compensated etc etc). I think it is difficult to compare Breitling to Rolex as Breitling's offerings are much wider in design that Rolex. Their the only watch company that makes a watch that can send an emergency signal to the SARSATs in the hopes of a rescue from the side of the mountain for pete's sake (for a cool $15K MSRP).
The only Breitling I have owned (and love) is the Transocean Chronograph Unitime. I bought it used for less than 50% of retail - it keeps almost perfect time and has a superior world time (better than most) function and chronograph. Not to mention Breitling is an independent company -- one of the best IMO that doesn't get enough respect. |

SuperQuartz Aerospace is definitely a mainstay in my book
And this exact piece is what I use as reference to set the time on my Submariner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, I love Breitling. Great watches, I just picked up an Aerospace EVO, the second Aerospace I have owned and the 3rd Breitling I have owned.
If they made smaller watches I would probably own more. So many are huge, 44mm is just too big for me, their cases are thick which I don't like. My EVO at 43mm is big, but wears smaller since it is so thin and light.

As far as breitling being a serious company i have seen two super avenger 2, one with a white and other with a black dial and the both of them had crooked datewheels and the wheels were not aligned properly and in the black one the dates from 1-26 were fine and dates from 27-31 were serously misaligned with the date window , now is this a fault of ETA or breitling i can't say but shows not a good quality control policy regarding super avenger models , i went through the datewheels as i was going to buy a SA but after seeing this i dropped the idea

What about the Galactic 36? Is this a good watch from Breitling?
