Posted earlier on this thread for a 15500 Blue I acquired.
Here’s the nest piece! Been waiting for the usual SS BLRO, Daytona C and SkyD. For over a year. I’ll spend my money where it’s appreciated. Loving this new piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not one had the watch.....exept for the AD I missed just 30 miles away from the house. Thankfully, it had just arrived the day prior......I was starting to think I would never find it. Wishing you luck! |

Am on several AD waitlists for a while. It’s a (AD) Sellers market for sure.
In order to quench my urges, I purchased this little beauty recently. My first non Rolex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice! I posted earlier about buying my first Omega, and I’ve since picked up my first GS and my first PAM as well. Really enjoying this watch. |

That looks like a 0682. Have enjoyed mine and had fun finding a custom strap.
If Rolex was plentiful I likely wouldn’t have strayed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Panerai is a fun watch. The strap culture is cool and sucks you in for hours at a time. It’s a nice hobby for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How many of you have actually purchased a non-Rolex because of the “shortage”
While being on a waiting list for a Sub C, I bought a 14060M.
Some months later I got the call from the AD and refused to buy the Sub C, letting it go for the next on the list. |

Nice one! Got my first Pam for the same reason! I always liked Pams but was not totally sold on the size. I didn’t want to wait for the Rolex I wanted so I just went for it and got a 42mm 1535. I like it so much I’m now looking into the next purchase, likely a 44mm

I don’t feel like I’m affected by any “shortage” and I must admit buying brands outside Rolex, Patek or AP is generally not financially sensible but I’m not sure I can resist that Cartier Santos blue dial much longer!
I think if I can steal one I can convince myself I need one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve since bought some great watches because they were great watches. Rolex had nothing to do with it.

I bought a Patek.
Went into another AD that I hadn’t done business with and thought. “May as well try get an Aquanaut while I wait for a White Daytona.” Landed up lucking out and waited a year for the Aquanaut, bought it with out hesitation. Now have a relationship started with them and they sell Rolex as well.

Just picked up the blue Santos as well while on a Caribbean vacation. The bracelet is excellent, and the watch is extremely comfortable. Interestingly, the AD I bought the watch from carries Cartier, Omega, Panerai and a few other brands, and the place was packed with shoppers. The Rolex AD across then atrium, however, had very little inventory... and no customers. The Rolex sales staff actually came out to see what I had purchased. I genuinely felt bad for them.

Yes AW4 is a very nice piece, I had one for a few months earlier this year. I turn off pretty much all notifications so it doesn't drive me bananas, and like you just use it mostly for fitness, but it has some great apps like your tide tables! My main issue is I detest iPhones but have to keep an old one at home to configure the watch...rumor has it the new AW5 might not require a companion iphone. |

Was between the 5146g and the rose gold Daytona with black dial. Prices of the Daytona jumped about 10k - while the PP remained about the same. Was an easy decision for me- but hope to add the Daytona when the time is right.

I don’t think they are allowed to do that, but an AD I went into was trying to sell me pre-owned ones at grey market prices. I told him that I would patiently wait for my Hulk. I’m in no hurry and told them to call me when one becomes available. I will only pay retail price. He tried then sell me a Kurmit, I didn’t even inquire about price because I know it will be ridiculous. I am now looking at the Speedmaster and Zenith Defy for my next purchase.
