Pam422
What is everyone’s thoughts on the 422? It looks like the ultimate classic Panerai and I’m considering buying one and wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on the 422. Given the style/features on the 422, any others I should consider?

If my wrist was a little bigger that would be the one I get. I am actually in the market for my first PAM. Good luck with your decision.

422 is a great watch. 372 is very similar but no seconds hand. Had both but sold them due to size.

For something more comfortable,go with titanium or composite, that’s why I have 368 and 375 along with 372...and they’re all N series which make them a bit more special

It strikes me that if you don't scratch the itch, it'll keep coming back...
I'm on another track right now (Equation of Time) otherwise the 422 would be in my sights. It's an itch that I've had for a few years but not yet satisfied. It's a class act. IF you are concerned re size then a 233 would be a good call, but it's not a 47mm and is relatively understated compared to the 422. Not sure if you've seen this post I did re Size: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=9869105 Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk |

These are my personal take on 422
Plus 47mm case in SS and it fits small for that size P3001 movement with rear PR (the only pam with this movt) Engraved luminor marina on dial Minus Flat sapphire crystal Missing 9 from the dial It’s a ref that made “fiddy” more affordable to the masses Personally I’d pass on 422 and went with another two refs with 4 cardinal numbers and small seconds |

. I’ve been very happy with mine. Bought new from AD in Las Vegas. Big, but not too big on my 7.5 in wrist. I think the power reserve indicator is cool and that the lack of the “9” is a plus- I dig the asymmetry

422 minus
[QUOTE=synequano;9928118]These are my personal take on 422

Speaking only for myself, I wish the pam00422 had the more domed crystal and the 12, 3, 6, 9 with smaller second hand by the 9. And everything else exactly as it is including the writing and color scheme. That would be perfection in my opinion, however, not having the “9” is a close second. |

422 is a beautiful watch, one of my favorite designs in the Panerai line………However, it looks ridiculously big on most with the rest of 7” or less, regardless of what others say.

I disagree. People are so concerned by wrist size but stature is probably more important. If you have a 6.75 inch wrist and are over 6 feet then a 47mm watch isn’t absurd. I took this last week at an AD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
