18038 DD 1981 with K18 D’A bracelet

I have been searching the forms and online but simply can’t understand the bracelet to my DD. It was a recent purchase and it’s at an AD right now for an appraisal. Can someone please explain to me if this is a factory original bracelet or if it’s aftermarket. Also are they common?

Thank you! (Btw this is my first)

There have been a few threads and comments about these bracelets, and the accepted knowledge is that they were made by a Rolex authorized manufacturer in South America.

This thread is one of the more informative:

There is ongoing discussion about whether they were made in Argentina or Venezuela, but there doesn't seem to be any definitive agreement about who made them or where they were made, although some evidence points to D'Agosto in Venezuela.

Is it DiVincenzo and Arianti? I have a gold presentation Rolex with D & A stamped on the case. They made cases for Rolex and others, they were based in NYC.

No, it is a different company with different company ID stamps.

The South American made bracelet stamps are D'A whereas the DiVincenzo and Arienti stamp is D & A, as you noted.

Thanks. Do you know if D&A made bracelets also, or just cases?

I can't say for certain but I don't think DiVincenzo and Arienti made bracelets or anything except cases.

The parent company was Belove & Arienti Watch Case Co so it looks as if they also made cases only.

Nearly all the D & A cases I have seen have been on leather straps, and the only integral bracelet watches with a D & A case have been very ornate jeweled Ladies cocktail watches where a manufacturing jeweler has incorporated a D & A case into the design.

It would be interesting if anybody has ever seen either an integrated bracelet watch where the bracelet is stamped D & A or any separate D & A stamped bracelets.

have pictures of the stamp?

Your AD is probably not the best party to authenticate.
