Good: my dream car, a 10 years old 6 cylinder BMW coupé. Also good a (sacrilege) Samsung Galaxy 3 smart watch.
Bad: a new desk for my home office that's proving to be too small.

After I looked up what knackered meant, to be sure it meant what I thought it meant, I can say I totally agree. I am absolutely getting a concept rower in 2021 when I renovate my home gym. We have several at my work gym. I’m constantly comparing my 500 meters to the Texas Department of Public Safety standards, and I’m constantly being humbled. I have no idea what goes on in Texas, but Texans must be rowing out of the womb. It’s the most motivating and, at the same time, demoralizing piece of equipment I’ve ever used.

My best purchase was a new bicycle this year. Both the booger eaters learned to ride their bikes this year and we started doing a lot of rides on trails that were not fun on my road bike, so I bought a bike to use with the kids. Picked up a Specialized Sirrus X4. I’m glad I did. This bike is so much more fun to ride than my road bike. And much better exercise when I’m riding without the kids. Borrowed photo because I didn’t take a picture of mine.

9E50DFE2-8808-45EC-B532-A5F9CD4702E4.jpeg

Worst was I bought three GoRucks this year and only needed two of them. I bought a large goruck2, large goruck1 and large Rucker. The gruck1 was completely redundant to the Rucker as far as needs go and I have other bags I use before it for other stuff. I bought all three at the same time because I wanted to get all three when they were still made in America.
The other two are great. I use the 2 for travel and I have a ruck it 30 pound weight in the Rucker that I use multiple times a week for long walks but I never touch the 1; I wasted $325+ on something I didn’t need, don’t use and they still sell the USA versions.

Best: Scotty Cameron Newport 2. What an amazing putter.

Worst: Seiko Sport 5 Diver. I bought it for Mexico, hated the size and sod it for a slight lost.

Best purchase:bike parts. Picked up mountain biking and I’m hooked, been spending all my spare money on them lately. And feel great about it.

Bought a few watches, could’ve lived without them. Still might sell them and park my money elsewhere

Best - Like above, put in a pool for the family. Just not nearly as nice as Singe89.

Worst - New Softtop for my jeep that is parked now due to covid/working from home/company vehicle.

I cut way back on a lot of purchases this year. Working from home made me realize how much unnecessary apparel and shoes I have. Only one watch too this year, a Seiko Brian May Special for $600.
Mountainbiking is more of a passion for me than watches or any other hobby. Just a couple of months ago I kind of spontaneously decided to go for broke and spent over six figures on a Limited Edition 2021 Scott Spark Supersonic which is done up in World Champion Nino Schurter's livery. It came as a frameset, I added SRAM AXS wireless electronic drivetrain, and Synchros Silverton SL wheelset which are one piece carbon weighing 1230g for the pair. My large full suspension weighs 21lbs, 11oz.
Adding to my joy was that my old bike, also a Spark SL, was passed on to a young teammate who loves it like I did. Icing on the cake was five days over Thanksgiving spent in Bentonville AR, the new mtb playground, putting it through its paces.

I bought a Hydrow rower. It’s quite an addiction, albeit, a healthy one I guess.

Changed my vote on worst purchase:
Rolling Stones tickets. Bought 4 via Amex and 4 via third party. Used the third party app only because they were available instantly while the Amex concierge needed like 30 minutes. This was a bucket list thing for my in laws, wanted awesome floor seats. The tix purchased via Amex were refunded. The third party tix are still mine, but of course the concert (and whether we want to go) is in limbo.

I love GoRuck. Maybe when you start traveling again, you will use the GR1 more. It is my favorite carry-on as the GR2 is just a little too big. GR1 is perfect for kindle, chargers, laptop, passport, and all the little misc things you might want to carry on the plane with you. The Rucker does not have the laptop compartment, so it is not a sufficient carry bag for me.

How do you like the Lynx Profession grill? Did you go all Trident or ??? How is the pizza oven, wife has been thinking of having us add that to our (currently in progress) custom outdoor kitchen / firepit / pool area.

Did u find good headphone in the end? I’m always looking for better headphones for phone calls and music. I have the AirPods Pro’s. Also not a fan of them but have yet to find a replacement.

Best is the Bvlgari Octo S micro-rotor timepiece. Case rocks, the bracelet is amazing, and of course the movement is visually stunning AND record-breaking for being so thin. Am glad they're available for the moment because if/when the hype machine happens... Super comfortable to wear.

Best purchase this year ? Hmmm...

I've been collecting comics since about 1983...and this years best addition is The Walking Dead no 3.

Worst purchase?
Rear shackles for my 2012 Xterras suspension that I have yet to install.

What's been your best and worst purchase of 2020? I was going to suggest minimum $100 to keep the thread interesting but I suppose any price point works here. Let's hear it.

Best: A top specs PC computer with Microsoft's new flight simulator (I am a grown man and not really into "gaming" but this flying simulator has brought me hours of fun and having a top of the line fast PC has been more useful than I thought, plan to upgrade more often in the future).

Worst: Bought some fine art from a gallery without seeing the paintings in person. I am an art collector and want to support artists. The photos looked great online but once I got them delivered the paintings just didnt speak to me in the same way. Lesson learned. Buy art in person.

(Edit for those who haven't seen it this is what Microsoft's flight simulator looks like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y742QnTHWNQ. I also bought the joystick and peddles so play it with. Tempted to get a real pilot's license now.)
WOW, I haven't played flight simulator since the late 80's...changed a LOT.
