I'm willing to risk some money on a spread just in the hopes that Floyd gets defeated.

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya has shared his opinion on this fight

Quote:
“You’re going to ask McGregor to go inside a boxing ring, where he has no experience whatsoever,” says De La Hoya.

“He’s never laced up a glove. I call it a circus, I don’t think it’s fair for the sport of boxing.”

Asked if he has any advice for the Irishman, the 44-year-old De La Hoya goes into overdrive.

“What he needs to know is that I started boxing at five years old. I’m an Olympic gold medalist. I’m a 10-time world champion in six different weight classes.

“Yes, I was a bit older when I faced Mayweather but even I couldn’t beat him. So what makes McGregor think that he can go in there, in his very first professional fight, having really no experience in the professional ranks and beat Mayweather?

“It’s kind of far-fetched. I would tell McGregor that it’s the fight you don’t want to take your first time around. This is obviously all about money.

Yea...

the only way this should happen is if their contracts stipulate 2 matches.

1st. A boxing match.

2nd. Then 6 months later an MMA fight.

now that I would pay to see.

McGregor is the better fighter...

Mayweather is the better boxer...

It will be interesting I'm a McGregor fan but in essence he's giving up so much of his arsenal he's on the back foot from the off, he does have age on his side but is this enough.

Never happen but as above both should fight both styles but MW would get his butt handed too him under MMA rules.

A show fight not a real fight!

Connor is going to be the highest paid clown in the world then. Heck of way to retire. I would say the only real clowns will be us if we pay to watch this garbage.

Just watched a few YouTube clips on Mayweather, his defence is just second to none. There's no way McGregor will be anywhere near skilful enough to get a look in. I'm guessing Floyd will toy with him for the first 5 rounds, then finish him off once McGregor has completely exhausted himself.

The comment Mayweather made at the press conference in LasVegas was plain silly .... I'm paraphrasing but it was something like: "I don't care if it's in a boxing ring or an octagon ... I'll kick ass."

He's perhaps the best of all time in a boxing ring, but he'd get destroyed by McGregor inside the Octogon.

I guess they are paid to say ridiculous things.

I agree with this. I'm a McGregor fan but only in the MMA. I'm hoping Mayweather knocks him out.

No way I will pay to watch it, it's a bit of a joke and to be honest I think they are probably mates and are in it together for the big payday. Probably having a laugh behind the scenes. Mayweather wins and then the debacle of a UFC rematch starts.

Taking us for mugs.

They're just trying to rile everyone up to spend the hundo on the joke of a "fight".

Even Tony Atlas said on ESPN yesterday the press conferences looked staged.

I think, based on comments all over the internet, that I'll be the only one actually watching and paying for this fight.

Oh hell no, I won't miss it either, lol... They're estimating 4-5mm PPV buys.

I read today, there're still a lot of tix for sale, and they went on sale last week. May/PAC sold out in less than a minute they said. Lowest tickets are $3k for this fight, $1500 for the Pac fight. Maybe they're getting greedy with the prices and ppl aren't buying them.

Mayweather vs Mcgregor finalized!

All the seats around the ring that are bluish grey and red are complimented or sold to other hotels for their customers

And the big circle of red seating AA- M are not available yet are being held for VIP

So Row N-Z will be 5000.00 ++ Lower Red area

Upper level 206 which is middle arena are 3500.00 +++

Lowest price tickets are 1975.00 in Section 216 Row Q

I think that a few hundred seats at least will go unsold and hotel will hand them out to whoever the casino hosts want to hand them to. They want no empty seats being shown on TV

Yes!!! Love this idea. This would be the way to do it. And think about how much money they would both make!! My lord.

I'd love to see this

Mayweather isn't foolish enough to get into the octagon though.

I'll watch for snippets on ESPN. I'm not paying for such a mismatch. At minimum, Mac ought to have insisted on MMA weight gloves. May gets all the advantage in this fight.

Supposedly they're on pace to break the $72mm that the PAC/May gate brought in, and have sold $60mm in tix already. I'm sure it's just more hype BS...

Honestly my fellow associates and I aren't taking wagers on who wins-- we are taking wagers on which round McGregor will lose his bearings and add in a kick or three.
