Birth year speedy
So, I just ran into a random guy while I was out tonight. After a few drinks and shared experiences, he told he me he has a speedmaster and not only that, it is my birth year speedy and a full set. I did get his contact info and I'm hoping I may make a deal with him soon as he is not that attached to it and has upcoming daughter engagements. No pics at this time, I just wanted to share the excitement for me. I'm hoping it might make out in my favor :)

Good luck. I'm also looking for a birth year Speedy. I've come across some, but never a full set.

Excellent! That is on my radar as well. I was born in July 1970 and I am having trouble locating the correct model. It would be the first ones with the nasa moon writing on the case back.
There are millions of 1969 available but production must have fallen off a cliff in 1970.

I would not advise relying upon the various "serial number charts". The "parts bin" factor applies to all Omega watches so the only way to ascertain when a watch was produced is to obtain an official abstract from Bienne.

Well, it turns out the watch is not the birth year for me. He did send me a few pictures, a 1984 purchase. He did send me copies of service history and yes the bezel is off in this picture. I am going to hold off or should I give her a nice service. .

Whats he selling it for? Looks like it needs some time at the Omega Spa.

Well as its not your birth year and with only giving it a casual glance I would pass.
