Real or Replica?

Thought I might be able to post in here and get more traction. Anyone familiar with the Omega DeVille Prestige Chronographs? Ref 4840.31

Just trying to get a quick opinion on whether this is real or a replica because I'm debating buying it from a private party tonight and would like some peace of mind.

Thanks in advanced,
Cris

I know nothing about that watch, but I will say that if you don't already have 100% peace of mind then do not buy a watch.

I found some piece of mind. If I knew how to upload pictures more effectively I would say: Incoming

Indeed. Planning to take it to the local Omega Boutique for authentication, and if authentic, full servicing. The watch winds smoothly, both pushers are functional, and it comes with a full bracelet. It's in pristine condition.

Cheers,
Cris

It's called a DeVille Prestige Chronograph, model 4840.31. They were in production from the 90's until the early 2000's.

It utilizes an 861 movement, same as the quintessential moon watch. Apparently they were made in SS, TT, and YG with 3 dial variations; white, black, and silver with each accounting for 60%, 30%, and 10% of production respectively.

Crystal: Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal
Case: Steel
Dial: Silver
Size: Case Diameter: 36.1 mm
Calibre: Omega 861
Lug to lug size: 19mm

Another wrist shot from today just for fun.

Thank you! That's a really cool, rarely-seen one. Love that beads of rice bracelet too.

Yeah, I feel like I found a hidden gem in this piece. Picked it up for $500, and I don't feel like it will ever be worth anything less if I do decide to sell.
