IWC Mark XX
Quote:
Yes, I didn’t like the lug to lug length of the previous version. It just seemed awkward. It wore bigger than my Submariner and Seamaster. I still liked it though. Almost bought one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

According to IWC the rotor had too much friction which my IWC authorized Patek AD seems to have missed when servicing the watch last year. According to IWC they should have replaced the rotor during a full service anyway. IWC / Richemont put another full service on top and everything was ok initially. Six months later it is consistently running 20 s slow a day but w/o stopping after 4-5 days. Off to IWC again... |

The hands and the bezel look a bit blingier than the XVIII. As an XVIII owner I don’t plan on upgrading to this XX anytime soon, but the improved power reserve and WR are welcome changes.
Not sure why not yet available on the a bracelet or rubber strap. 100m WR sport watch and a leather strap doesn’t make much sense to me. The movement is still to small for the case but that’s fine by me. You don’t want a watch to be “perfect” in the eyes of watch nerds. Then it’ll cost more than a car. |

Why no Mark 13 or 14? The answer is simply due to superstition. The number 13 is considered unlucky in the US and Europe while the number 14 is considered the same in Asia. As to number 19, there are claims that it is considered unlucky in Japan.

The 38mm version still would have worn larger. The lug to lug on this model is a lot shorter.

Also wears bigger than those because it's all dial. I have an XVI and it wore larger than my Rolex 16570 at the time, in spite of the Rolex being 1mm bigger.

I tried the blue dial with the rubber strap. Super comfortable and really easy to swap straps in a pinch. Very tempted …

I take it that it comes with the quick release system. I am tempted to get the black dial version. And with my eye sight aging along with me , black on white would be a lot better to read, perhaps even without wearing glasses

The hands kill it for me. The MK XII/ early flieger chronograph hands were elegant, simple and to the point. These sword hands are out of caracter for a professional watch.

I'm a huge fan of it, especially the green dial. Nicely done by IWC!

If the watch had baton style hands, I’d get one. No question.

Any more "in hand" pics of the black and/or green dial?

I have the IW3268 and will be selling it soon
Despite not having big wrists it feel small. When I look down at it, it just seems much smaller than my other 40 mm watches. I also wish it didn't have a date While I like the new one has a 5 day PR I just don't think it's the watch for me.
