Curious on relative percentages.

For those that do keep that way, are you like that with other things? Like watches too?
I will eventually wear every shoe that I buy. I have so many sneakers, however, that it may take a while before I get around to wearing something. I also refuse to pay resale prices on any shoe. If I can’t get it at retail, then I’m not meant to have it.

The only shoes I resell are pairs that I bought thinking I would wear that just don’t resonate for me when I get them in hand. I was sort of underwhelmed with the Lost and Founds in person, for example, so I’m debating whether to sell or keep them.

Fun thread to read, but do we need to ask, is it safe to wear them when…?!?

Double Whammy

1. Vintage shoes will fall apart with even less than normal use because of material degradation.

2. Stick up kids are still “a thing”

This was the main reason I sold off shoes I had acquired over the years.

On top of that, Nike is pretty much guaranteed to retro it at some point, so you are left with a crusty shoe or one that looks the same for $200 (and no I don’t think air versus logo on the back of the 4s matters lmao.)

I don’t really wear any Jordans these days, other than my favorites: the IIIs in the old colors.

My friend who is a sneaker head almost killed me when he came over and saw how I had these lows stored in my closet lol. I had no idea how much they go for.

Only thing left more me to do if figure out if I should sell my numerous pairs of Yeezy 350s ( so comfortable) or if I just let Kanye be Kanye and see if they end up worth more down the road. )My suspicion is no because they made so many.)

Nail on the head there!!

Not to mention not unlike Patek’s alleged market manipulation with “icing” a certain percentage of stock only to later be released to auction houses. There seems to be an awful lot of of “containers” found with Vintage Jordan’s up for sale to account holders at of course market prices.

As an early SB account I was privy to some shady things. All the above things stated contributed to my exit from the “game”. We didn’t say anything because at the time shoes were pretty much the only things keeping the lights on against big box mall shops and cross border shopping.

Oh boy. The stories we could trade lol. I am quite well-versed on what you see when you peel the layers back on Nike...

I've always said that Nike succeeds in spite of itself.

Some examples
Nike SB FC Noodle 2004 mid sole glue let go. It was crystallized. Otherwise great condition but unuseable as shoes
Nike Foot Patrol Clerks 1 Time only pack 2006/2007 leaks in the air module and complete discolouration.
Jordan Retro 1 Undefeated 2007 upper patent was white.

Keep in mind my shoes were never exposed to water and were meticulously cleaned after every use and stored in a climate controlled environment no smoking or pets.

My early to late 90’s and early 2000’s pairs seem to hold up the best perhaps because they were made from quality materials unlike todays.

Sneakerheads

A topic near & dear to my heart. Lol

I worked at footlocker as a kid & have been a sneakerhead ever since. I have owned probably 50 different variations of Jordan shoes from true 90’s OGs to the 2000 retro and modern ones.

Sold all of them except these 2.

True Blue 3s with Nike Air on the back (yes it matters lol) as my occasional wear collector pair & sport blue 6s that are my beaters for sporting events etc.

I miss being in the game, but like all hobbies I have enjoyed I settled on a set up that works for me without the baggage of being a collector.

I'm excited to see where the road takes me and curious to see if anyone else here is into the game!

Those black taxis look hot! Got me searching.

They look even better in person - can't go wrong!

On another note, I just purchased the AJ1 Satin Snake for daily wear while waiting for the Lost and Founds to come in. I wanted the Jordan 1 silhouette in a Chicago colorway, but with something a tad different because...that's me!

Pic below is from the web but I'll be sure to post pictures of these (and the other 2 pairs that I'm waiting on!) once they come in.

Nice! Trying to find me the black taxis in my size. Not really a ‘sneaker head’, but I do like AJs.

I was able to grab a pair in my size which is terribly difficult anyway. This after basically missing out on most drops this past year.

Adding a pic of the Solefly 13's on feet. Love the clean look of these!

Of course, I still have to remove the sticker off of the hologram. That'll happen once we return from Vegas; not bringing these along.

Thanks gents!

On another note, arrived here in Vegas and my L&F's showed up the same day. Just WOW! Love the details and they're definitely my favorite sneaker of the bunch.

Well worth the above-MSRP that I paid and I would recommend it to those on the fence. I know everyone has seen many pics of these (are they the black Sub equivalent?!) but here are mine anyway.

Nice hit on the L&Fs. I paid resale and absolutely no regrets. Black laces all the way on these.

I'm liking New Balance trainers these days with their muted tones.

Nike especially the NBA bright colours are a bit 1990's these days aren't they?

I wouldn't necessarily say I hit - I also paid resale, but no regrets whatsoever. They're worth the premium.

Nope! Just check out what people are wearing to Sneakercon and other events, as well as the USMNT's coach's kicks and you'll see colors abound.

I'm all for a nice clean pair of white kicks, but they've been my go to for so long that I'm a bit tired of them.
