It’s 7.75%. I recently purchased from the SCP AP boutique and was charged 7.75% sales tax.

I would say Omega has made actually more increases out of nowhere than most other brands (and that's including Rolex, AP and PP).

Specially with the Speedmaster they were going crazy on the previous generation with raises with 0 change to the watch.

They've been pushing prices up for the last 10-12 years to try and close the gap with Rolex.

What did the ROO 43 start out at when it was introduced? Was it like 36-38k depending on variant.

There is a caveat here... Tax % depends on county/city you live in, not just the state; many states have multiple tax % rates. So below only applies if you pick up the watch from the boutique in person; boutique will calculate local taxes. If your watch is shipped to you, they will calculate taxes based on where the watch is being shipped.

Dallas: 8.25%
Las Vegas: 8.38%
East Hampton: 8.63%
Manhasset: 8.63%
NYC: 8.875%
Atlanta: 8.9%
Aspen: 9.3%
Beverly Hills: 10.25%
Chicago: 10.25%

So, 43mm CE bezel steel ROO with median sales tax of ~8.4% is $45750, give or take. Still not $50k.

Taxachusetts for the win, btw.

Divers were at CHF 21.6K when launched. Now - CHF 27K.
~25% which is in the same ballpark % as Omega's increase on the Speedy in 2 years.

Interesting to note is that some models actually got adjusted down.
The full RG 15510 went down approx. 2K and now the price is the same as the recently launched full WG 15510.

And when I bought mine it then went down by £100 a few months after if I recall correctly, as I remember thinking it seemed odd at the time. It then went over 36k.

The truth is all new AP's have a large waiting list (if you can get on it) and AP adjusted their prices like the other brands because their supply chain costs have gone up.

Heck I just tried to buy some weedkiller at Lowes and its literally doubled in the last year.

Ceramic bezel was $38k, Ti was $36.9k. Healthy 4k more in about a year... But they literally were released and then got a price increase within 4 months if I recall correctly

Has there been any news on the CPO program? Is it going to happen?

Would like to share the price change on Jumbo in Hong Kong, in HK dollars as currency.

16202OR (and BA) list price: from $575,000 to $608,000 = 5.7% increment.

16202ST: from $271,000 to $272,000 = 0.4% increment.

Don’t understand how their revenue management team come up with 0.4% so precise and yet not quite meaningful increment…

Well, AP is a Swiss watch company operating in Swiss Francs. 0.4% perhaps had nothing to do with price adjustment, but currency value changes.

The price of the rose gold jumbo was kind of already set, because the white gold version was set at 608k. It only made sense that the OR version matched it too.

Yeah, it's quite amusing to see the carefully and individually metered out price changes for the various models/materials/movements. There's some thought behind it, e.g., for the RO, CE and OR versions of the same reference now have identical prices - but then the ROO Brick is still more than the CE Beast...

I am on waiting list for ROC steel. It was 29.200€ then. Now 36.600€.
Prices of grey market offshores here in Europe are still high, over LP.

Mar 1 Price Increase

It’s frustrating as a consumer… I remember when I first showed interest in a RO 15500 with my SA it was $22.9k… fast forward 1.5yrs I was allocated a 50th 15510 and paid $26.6k. That’s a delta of $3.7k… it is what it is but what can you do…

Timeless luxury goods historically speaking will always increase in retail price over time. This is how brands maintain the exclusivity and perceived value.

My wife just told me Chanel increased they’re classic bags by 16% overnight. Timeless bag that will hold its value and demand overtime. It’s like in demand watches - you can’t just walk in buy it… and when its offered to you, you can’t pass on it.

In no way shape or form I’m saying these are investments but this is how pricing has evolved over time.

It just seems that the rate of these increases has increased markedly from the past. Chanel in particular has gone into ludicrous drive with its increases, and their bags are generally not as exclusive or hard to get as Hermes (although I know they aren’t easy either). I share your frustration at watching multiple price increases while awaiting a given piece.

Makes sense from their overall pricing structure: Gold Code chrono is more than RO steel chrono, Gold Code 3-hander is more than RO, so Code QP shouldn't be less than RO steel QP. Still a bit tough to swallow, even though it is a superb watch.

I got it for $71k net when it first came out. (2019) Walked in to the Paris boutique and got the full VAT taken off
