Well said, theres nothing pretentious about seiko and those who are buying them aint buying them for status.
Not that all rolex owners buy theirs for status, but seiko and rolex communities are very different.
BUT its great to see an ever growing group of co-owners of both brands embracing the strong points of both.
Rolex might have the status but Seiko put the fun back into collecting and make some killer watches with killer designs.

At least with Seiko's you don't hear as much whining about: availability/ box and papers/ being in the "know" with your AD and other frivolous quirks

I can enjoy both Seiko and Rolex but I seem to get unrelenting pure watch enjoyment from my Seikos. Although Rolex make great watches, there is no doubt.

Unfortunately, Rolex seems to have engendered a culture of luxury exclusivity which manifests itself in an ever increasing appreciation by some of purely elitist appreciation rather than the qualities of the timepiece.

However, Seiko simply makes some extremely extraordinary timepieces at a far greater range of prices that are more often appreciated for the watches themselves and not their value or exclusivity.
