Need help on the authenticity of this Rolex 1601

I have been looking to get my first rolex and chanced upon a datejust ref 1601, serial number starting with 6572XXX.

It has a rose gold fluted bezel with champagne dial and what caught my attention was the year :1980. From what i recall, this was the year that datejust reference number became 5 digit. Additionally, the dial labelled as "SWISS" for a tritium dial.

Is this watch authentic and original?

Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the inputs.

From the serial number, the watch seems to be from 1980, from what I read, the 4 digit reference seems to last till 1977.

Is it possible for a 4 digit reference Rolex to be produced in this year?

That's what I was thinking. Everything on that watch looks closer to 1960 than 1980.

Yeah that was my concern initially, it was described as a 6-5XX -XXX series. Will need to take a closer look at the serial number when I'm viewing the watch.

However, is there such cases of this type of watch producing in 1980?

The latest 1601 I’ve seen is a 5 million serial number... whoever is describing it likely assumed the extra digit... ask them to take a close second look...

He means "kosher". It's slang for legitimate/correct.
