Deep Sea too big (for me) - end of story

Tried it. Took a pic. Doesn't work. Beautiful watch. But half the skill in choosing a watch is to get one that suits you.

On an iPhone - not sure how to paste the pic. But it's just not right! Pity.

It was disappointing when I owned one. So many things I liked about it - it was just way too thick to be something I could wear for everyday use.

Thats a shame, it is a stunning watch, hope you manage to work out how to post the pic. Whats your wrist size by the way?
I have a 6.75" wrist and still not sure if I can pull it off, keep trying it on, and cant make a decision.

It's a watch not a bracelet. There is a mental commitment involved with wearing such a piece. I think wrist size is only part of it. You have to be able to handle it on every level. It is not for everyone. For me I love it, and almost wish it was a little larger.

I've been thinking the same about mine. I received as a gift... not a great look on me. Thinking its about time to get rid of it. Never been my style really. Thinking of trying something a bit more classy and less sporty & big.

Try a subc, feels a lot like a DSSD but smaller.

I agree with OP; big, thick, heavy but great looking. Plus, no cyclops I could never see owning one though.

I really like the 44mm size but the thickness of the side wall of the case was a major turnoff. Just a big ugly slab of metal.

It does not suit anyone but i will always say that sizing it to fit the wrist properly is half the job in getting it to look right.
Good luck in choosing the one that's for you buddy.

If your wrist size is greater than 7.75, your off to a good start with the DSSD.

X2 Love the DeepSea, have owned a couple of them and flipped them, Will most likely pick one up again however it is on the large side for my 6.7 wrist too

Yet another thread about the DSSD. It seems like every two or three days somebody starts a thread about this watch. Half the time it is the greatest watch ever, the other half it is just an unwieldy chunk of metal. So really, which is it?

Shame you didn't feel right with the size. I felt the same at first, but soon it felt natural. Plus once I switched with a mate who had an early sea dweller, just to see the difference. His felt like a ladies watch, felt so right once I put my DSSD back on. It's a bit like going from a standard sized car, to a 4x4. Seems massive at first, but doesn't take long to feel so right.lol

Tried it after a submariner and hated it, tried it one year later after a 44mm Panerai, and loved it :) Not an everyday watch though...

It's a big, thick, heavy watch. It's not surprising that there are people who just don't like wearing it.

It's a cool watch. It makes a statement (of what, I'm not sure). It's a conspicuous watch. I tried one on and liked it, but didn't think that I would wear it enough to justify owning one. If I somehow wound up with one, I wouldn't be sad.

How much time did you spend with the DSSD? Sometimes it take a little while to be comfortable with it. Give it time -- visit more ADs and try it on more for longer periods, maybe you will be more comfortable with it???

Don't consider this an everyday watch -- buy it for special occassions!!!

I agree. I tried one on on Friday. I really wanted to like it but it was too heavy and too thick

Why/how didn't it work? Did you try it with he divers extensiion removed? That is supposed to make the watch sit better.

I really don't get it it is pretty simple. The DSSD is a Sub on steroids. It is like there are two versions of the Sub. There are many other Rolex watches that wear like a bracelet. Not that a bracelet is bad. I personally like a chunk of Rolex on my wrist that shouts out a little. There are so many other brands that are larger. Hubolt, Breitling, U Boat, for example. This is the biggest baddest watch, that Rolex makes. OK the YM II is big, but not bad.
So you have the DSSD and...... every other Rolex. Either/Or you can't go wrong. Just saying.
