Do we have any vulcanologists or geologists, professional or otherwise, on board?

I thought today that it seems we have a lot of volcanoes erupting all around the world, so I decided to look it up.

I was aware of maybe four, but I counted 27 currently erupting on this chart.

I'm not one to obsess about things apocalyptic or anything, but is this usual?

Am not an expert, though yes it seems the volcanic activity is up. You do know we're just between Ice Ages on planet Earth, so enjoy the 'global warming' while it lasts.

Might be due to easier access to info. Some years ago shark attacks were all the range and the scare ironically surfaced when shark attacks were at an all time low.

I've hiked up the dormant sister island of Volcano also within the Aeolian Island chain when I was younger, Stromboli is off limits and some quite honestly very steep. Of course it's nearest neighbor is always going off (Mt. Etna).

My dad used to say back in the 70’s, if things keep up and it gets bothered enough, the earth will simply shake people off of it. More and more, seems like he may have been right.
