The jury's still out in terms of comfort, durability & quality but here a are some pics of US's Tropic & Waffle vs. OEM silicon (from the SLA017, SLA025 & very most likely, the upcoming SLA033):

SLA017 & Tropic

MM300 & Waffle

SLA025 & OEM (uncleaned to show the lint-magnet characteristics...)

All (incl. SBDX001 OEM strap)

That “Tropic” looks really cool

As I wrote, I'm not at the point to comment on comfort (some break-in is required for most straps) but for sure the OEM silicon is the most pliable and the most comfortable for immediate use

Bit late to the party I know . But I was lucky enough to track down a brand new SLA that a AD had locked in a safe , He was keeping it for someone who had asked to have it put aside but never went to collect . So after confirming it was still available ( overjoyed that it was ),Myself & Mrs CPR set off on a 14 hour 490 mile round road trip to Norwich(UK)on Saturday to collect it & I couldn't be happier with it . I didn't think there would be any left available through ADs & got a healthy 16% discount ,which I wasn't expecting . I have read lots of threads & postings regarding this watch, & it has had very mixed reviews regarding price point & the 8L35 movement that has been used , But these are side issues that Im more than happy to live with, So here is No1203 saying hello

Wow, that was a heck of a road trip, but indeed, the SLA017 is a heck of watch! Congratulations and enjoy it in good health

on the subject of different straps, I’ve been wearing mine on the “captain willard” from uncle seiko. A+ in my opinion...

I owned one, found it too thick but was able to sell it at a premium.
