Street Photography: "Democracy"
I am putting this together while listening to "Democracy" and "Everybody Knows" by Leonard Cohen... This is just about as political as I get. - enjoy!
Democracy It's coming through a hole in the air, from those nights in Tienanmen Square. It's coming from the feel that this ain't exactly real, The beauty of a democracy, you can do pretty much what you want, protest a soldier's death. Listen up - what you do with your time is your choice but if your sons and daughters join the army - not only will they get a paid college education but they could also get ... killed in a war or in an accident. So she wants the truth as to why the U.S. want to war with Iraq - keep plugging at it Cindy, it is your right, but coming to visit Canada and charging $20 a head to hear you speak... Well, okay what-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeever - I think it cheapens your message when you ask for money for people to hear it but that's just me. or it's real, but it ain't exactly there. From the wars against disorder, from the sirens night and day, Well - gas prices are getting higher and cars seem to now be getting smaller... from the fires of the homeless, I have a soft spot for misery - my biggest fear was to find myself on the street - homeless, I do not fear as much as I used to. from the ashes of the gay: Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. With those lyrics above - I didn't want to associate any one person as not to label anyone so here goes an advertising, back rub... Hummmm I wonder how much for a full frontal! He he he NOT! It's coming through a crack in the wall; on a visionary flood of alcohol; Don't drink and drive - I love this bike more than any other on the road right now, one day, one day you will be mine! from the staggering account of the Sermon on the Mount which I don't pretend to understand at all. When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. It's coming from the silence on the dock of the bay, from the brave, the bold, the battered heart of Chevrolet: Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. Bikes are out in force! It's coming from the sorrow in the street, the holy places where the races meet; from the homicidal bitchin' that goes down in every kitchen to determine who will serve and who will eat. I dunno guys - what do you do and what can you do, can't be a miracle man. My pledge is to stop and talk to a homeless person every so often - treat them like human being - not to ignore them and respect them as I would anyone else, when I have spare change to give when they ask for food. This said if they look like a crack head, well - too bad so sad, "I ain't got nothing for you, sorry.... From the wells of disappointment where the women kneel to pray for the grace of God in the desert here and the desert far away: Man! Are they distributing those like there is not tomorrow! Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. One smile at a time Sail on, sail on O mighty Ship of State! Bush! Hummmm not the ideal way of passing a message with antics like these but it sells for some people... To the Shores of Need Past the Reefs of Greed Through the Squalls of Hate Sail on, sail on, sail on, sail on. This truly saddens me, a lonely old man sitting on a park bench by city hall, with no one talking to him, to be old and lonely... Heartbreaking. It's coming to America first, the cradle of the best and of the worst. Wow... Best of the worst or just taking a nap on a lazy Friday? It's here they got the range and the machinery for change and it's here they got the spiritual thirst. Okay a question for the fathers out there - your daughter brings him back home - any thoughts? Reactions? It's here the family's broken and it's here the lonely say that the heart has got to open in a fundamental way: Lovely moment Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. Smile!!!!!!!!! It's coming from the women and the men. O baby, we'll be making love again. We'll be going down so deep the river's going to weep, and the mountain's going to shout Amen! Just a lovely young lady! It's coming like the tidal flood beneath the lunar sway, imperial, mysterious, in amorous array: MILF alert! He he he just for the old guys! I had to get closer - can you see her eyes? Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. The guy with the white beard gets in every one's face if you take pictures of people, "You have to ask!" Well buddy, you have a camera around your neck and no, I don't have to ask - that was 2 weeks ago, he still glares at me every time I walk by... "Get a job!" - Okay, get a life old guy - don't hate - appreciate! Sail on, sail on ... Nice car... Me like I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean I love the country but I can't stand the scene. No comments! And I'm neither left or right I'm just staying home tonight, Just a couple of guys standing around, picture above and below. getting lost in that hopeless little screen. But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags that Time cannot decay, Nice Pyjamas! Everyone is glued to their cell phones makes you wonder how people managed before cell phones! I'm junk but I'm still holding up this little wild bouquet: Cool bike Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. Everybody Knows Everybody knows that the dice are loaded Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed Everybody knows that the war is over Everybody knows the good guys lost Everybody knows the fight was fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich That's how it goes Corporate man Everybody knows Everybody knows that the boat is leaking Everybody knows that the captain lied Everybody got this broken feeling Like their father or their dog just died [SIZE="1"]Waiting</font> Everybody talking to their pockets Everybody wants a box of chocolates And a long stem rose Everybody knows Didn't see me, yay! Candid enough for you? Everybody knows that you love me baby Everybody knows that you really do Everybody knows that you've been faithful Ah give or take a night or two Everybody knows you've been discreet But there were so many people you just had to meet Without your clothes And everybody knows Fishing for something, wouldn't it be easier to simply pull the bag up?? Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Traffic is essentialy very boring Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows And everybody knows that it's now or never Everybody knows that it's me or you And everybody knows that you live forever Ah when you've done a line or two Everybody knows the deal is rotten Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton For your ribbons and bows And everybody knows Nice lady, I like her ... Well she looks like she has class! And everybody knows that the Plague is coming Everybody knows that it's moving fast Everybody knows that the naked man and woman Are just a shining artifact of the past Everybody knows the scene is dead But there's gonna be a meter on your bed That will disclose What everybody knows Almost the perfect shot. And everybody knows that you're in trouble Everybody knows what you've been through From the bloody cross on top of Calvary To the beach of Malibu Everybody knows it's coming apart Take one last look at this Sacred Heart Before it blows And everybody knows Can't be discreet with a flash... Everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Oh everybody knows, everybody knows That's how it goes Everybody knows Everybody knows I think this is my favorite picture today... |

That's it... seeing the city hall has made me home sick. I want a trip to Toronto and see my old haunts and visit my old friends.

I am just "The Dude" or "Dude"
I was just reading "The Unknown Citizen by W.H. Auden with Sam Elliot voice going in my head... Strangely appropriate...
