1st Patek - Considering 5159 and...

Hi All,
Looking for a bit of advice. It looks like the company I work for may be taken out, giving me a bit of a windfall. So, I'm contemplating taking a jump into Patek Philippe. I'm a bit of a sucker for a nice dial, which is why I'm a bit drawn to the 5159. I think the sunburst guilloché dial quite mesmerizing. Also, I find the watch a bit understated compared to, say, the 5160. The current pricing of the 5159 is also quite attractive.

With this, are there any other references you would suggest I consider?

Thanks,
Martin

Great choice
I think it is truly understated and under appreciated piece.
It is a beautiful PC, with hunter caseback (giving you the ability to engrave on the back something unique to you).
I like the fact that it is center seconds so that the watch feels alive and you can see the seconds hand moving every time you look at the watch.
It is truly at a good price point.
Which metal are you considering?
Are you thinking of buying new from AD? New from GM? Or preowned?
I think another PC that is under appreciated at the moment is the 5940

Well, I ended up going a slightly different direction. 5496R paired with a 5054G. I may end up with a 5159 down the road, but in the end it was a good size and beautifully finished, but a tad busy.
