Just picked this up as my beater. Very happy with it. Solid build quality.

My beater used to be an old skx007, until it died. Now it's an even older Hamilton Field watch.

My Beater

This one has been in two wars, used in various military aircraft and warships…and it’s done 20 years for me so far…. Proper beaten up beater !

What's your beater watch?

I have daily worn watches that get subjected to typical wear and tear and are worn through most activities that would make the typical current TRF member cringe.

But if I know I am crawling in mud, shoving my arm into dark bug infested sandstone crevices to activate levers, freefalling from a trimotor on an inflatable life raft, and handling sacred stones while traversing a 100 year old rope bridge, I’ll take off my watch and place it in my pocket prior

No need to purposely subject a watch to unnecessary damage if you have the opportunity to take it off.

of course it's not a "beater" but it's been my everyday watch for over 4 years
been in several different oceans, pools, whatnot
worn on snowy mountain, dry desert

often the safest place for a watch is on my wrist so I kept it on and just covered it with the gloves in the photo

G shock M5610 ,Beater is a different qualification depending of the individual. In my case i know for a fact that there is no Rolex or what ever Auto mechanical movement with a steel case will make it ,learn that the hard way.

Currently my 116610LN. After I sell that, it will become my 126610LV.

That's my beater watch as well. Love the old Explorer II. My daily wearer for sure.

Since I no longer have an Explorer 114270, it's now a Seiko automatic or Casio digital.

I'm on the list for the new Explorer.
