Incoming! DD40 Platinum

I had been on the waiting list for a platinum Daytona for several months and got the call for this along the way! Unfortunately it probably means the Daytona isn’t going to happen for me soon - but never fear!! I have already sourced a new one and hope to post the story with another incoming next week! I was a little split on whether to do the DD40 in platinum without the glacier dial, but this rhodium dial (believe it’s new for 2021) really flies under the radar and nicely complements the white metal.

I very much like this reference. The primary thing that has kept me from securing one (and I know this is a personal tatse thing) is the smooth bezel. If the platinum day/date could be had with a fluted bezel - I'm all over it.

I was worried the 40 would be too large for my wrist - looks very different than my DD36! But it looks great IMO and I really like it.

I hope to have the Platona on here some time next week - along with - perhaps - a little Patek content as well?!

Stealth DD....I love it! Wear it everywhere. People who think they know what it is will think it's an Explorer.

I think the same thing! I picked it up at lunch, wore it back to the office, had a few meetings, no one even noticed it. It looks like a DJ41 with rhodium dial from even the closest distance - but "look closer."

That looks stunning. Love this dial a lot more than the lightblue that we often see with platinumh

Thank you! At first I was a little bummed when AD sent me the pic of it (that it wasn't glacier blue) but this gives a very different look for sure.

Thank you! I wasn't sure what I thought about the new single blue hand with the glacier, so this non-glacier solved that problem for me! I remember calling an AD on East Coast this summer looking for something and she told me they had a DD40 with glacier/baguette in the case and I passed on it.

No joke! Sometimes it even tricks me! (Then I see the credit card statement and am quickly reminded.)

With the crime so bad right now, the stealth was a big motivating factor for me to buy this one.
