It’s already tiny and faintly legible might as well make it totally useless.

I'm sure a movement/case combo could be engineered to allow for a smaller Daytona w/100m WR. My point was that the 4130 probably won't fit into a 37mm case that had 100m of water resistance, and you'd have to truly start from scratch.

It would probably have to lose the thick bezel, too. Those old 37mm Daytonas had very, very thin bezels and even the 37mm YM can't accommodate the 32xx and requires the 22xx.

Ah, got it. Makes sense. Really appreciate this response!

I agree that it isn't legible and a successful design in that department, but I actually think the dimensions is what makes the Daytona a classic. Hope they never change it.

“Most” that will do crazy things or pay crazy prices to get one? I think far more believe it is a perfect size.

Most people are crying like babies that the 40 are too small!

I think they will go up or down by 1mm and the world will go crazy over it. But I do think it actually needs to be slightly bigger. If they could somehow add a date function without ruining the look, that would be awesome.

I do feel like Rolex is spreading their watch model out so that you have a 36, 39, 40, 41, 43, 44. So you can have a professional model that fits your size. But what do I know haha.

Their business is to sell watches. So they will make any size to reach new buyers. Not everyone is comfortable with 40mm +

Here’s a tongue twister to answer your query OP.

They say 40 though its 38 it won’t be 37 because 40 minus 38 is 2 and with two on top of the alleged 40 that would make 42 but its still 38

Don't think this was well received. Have been offered it a few times already; politely declined.
